I think Alfie is getting anger management problems haha. Hes always tried to bite me - my nose and chin (and only me for some reason) but iwas never hard and kinda a sign of endearment as if it was a kiss.

Lately tho hes started hitting me all of the time - across the face, my chest. Yesterday Gav was fastening his buckels on his dungarees and he turned and bit him!!!

Please tell me this is a stage and hes gonna grow out of it cos i really dont want a nasty baby!!

Izzy went through a stage of cratching and pinching me - HARD! and it bloody hurt!

Nothing and I mean nothing would make her stop - i tried ignoring, moving her way, she would stop after a while but then do it again the next day!

So I smacked her hand! She was disgusted in me - gave me a filthy look and walked off to play with her toys - and it worked! She didnt do it again like she was doing

Occasionally now she will pull at my skin or hair- and I do think she is testing for a reaction, so I ignore it, pretend she hasnt done anything - if I said ow or whatever she'd do it again - but me doing nothing is boring and she stops!

SO yes I think he will get through it - but what you do to make him stop now is up to you - I hated smacking her and have never wanted to (and thankfully needed to) do it again, but I dont really regret doing it as it stopped her!

Amelia went through this phase too. I tried ignoring it but she just did it more and more so I got down to her level, looked her in the eyes and said a very firm "NO! Don't hurt Mummy it isn't nice" and then if she went to do it again I moved her away and ignored her protests. She seems to have grown out of it now and if I ever say ouch she comes and gives me a kiss and cuddle. x

Ive been looking him in the eyes pointing at him with my finger and saying "no alfie - hitting mammy is naughty" in a stern voice. He doesnt like it and cries and then has a little stampy feet paddy but does stop. Today we were walking around the boot sale and i was carrying him and i just ignored him and handed him straight to gav and he stopped!!

I dunno why its me he wants to hit so much!! Im glad that its a phase that he will grow out of cos im gonna end up battered and bruised haha x

ava has started biting too, she gets my finger and sinks her teeth into it. I do what Lisag does, make eye contact and say firmly No.

They don't understand right from wrong at this age so i wouldn't worry hun x

Rowan went through this mainly when i was holding him he would pinch me and slap me. but always the pinching. If he did it i said nothing to him (as he was Alfie's age at the time) and passed him straight to his daddy. I'd then take him back and if he did it again he go back to daddy but for longer. and if he did it a third time he stayed with daddy.

As he got older I get down to his level or sit him some where where his eyes are level with mine and tell him, No Rowan, do not hit mummy.

One thing he hates is when I'm talking to him and he wont look at me. So i ask him to look at mummy and 95% he will not look at me, so he gets sent to his room where he has to sit on his bed for 2 mins, then i go in and tell him why he was sent to his room. and i ask him if he'll do it again he'll say no. i'll ask if he is going to be a good boy he'll say yes. i'll ask him to say sorry and he'll give me a hug.

I think every child is different. and as Rowan has grown the discipline has had too change.
