I'd rather ask this now, even though I meant to ages ago!, than leave it any longer!! Cleaning baby girl's bum - 'wipe downwards' seems the only advice given. I'd have thought that was obvious but hey ho Anyway, the teeny girlie bits, there's nothing specific is there?? Just wipe over and jobs a good un'?? It's seen us right so far and obv we're all clean and fresh each nappy change but I worry that I could not be doing something I should - I'm only used to willie wiping where it's all on show!!

^ seconded! Ummm how much should there be 'noo noo' (lol) opening - I tend to let the cotton pad do the work .... (which, btw, much easier than cotton balls or cotton wool itself - I have no idea why they are recommended! The faff with the sticking and the fluff and the fibres left on...?) xx

I just get the wipe and clean all the poop off buttocks, anus, thighs, back, tummy, feet 1st.... and then do the creases at tops of legs and wipe down her middle line until the wipe is clean. I dont really pull her apart or anything but I do wipe 'firmly' in there. Occassionally I prob have wiped 'up' the line to check its clean but dont worry about spreading poo as all the other areas are clean so should be any 'transference' I dont know how boys are easier! Im terrified at the idea of cleaning balls and a willy! And getting sprayed with pee all the time

Such a tricky question, but yeah..just gently wipe front to back, and open toodles just enough to make sure there isn't any ka ka or anything else there. If in doubt..you know those after care squirt bottles they give you after birth..just fill it with warm water..put a towel under her bum and just give it a good little rinse..pat dry. I still do this if Maky had a sticky poo that baby wipes just cant seem to get rid of. Madisyn once got a really bad yeast infection when she was in diapers and ever since then I've been paranoid. xxx

If it's a pooey one I always have a quick peek to make sure it's all cleared up but I'm less fussy after a wee. You can get a build up of cream between the folds so it's good to just make sure it's all cleared out once in a while. It did start looking a bit cheesy at one bit so I had a swipe with a wet cotton bud (between the folds, not actually "in" anywhere) that sorted it out.
