Necessity. I need to access email all day and send invoices, quotes etc. And be on my forum and FB. I would literally wilt away and die if i couldnt speak to you lot

but seriousley, i think especially as your kids get older with homework and stuff its getting to be more of an necessity for them...plus ebay x

its something we could live without (although most of us probably think we couldnt ) so i see it as a luxury. a necessity in my eyes is something you need to keep you alive. like food and water and clothes and a roof over your head x

i think for those who dont require it for work purpose then it is a luxury ,,, i would really hate not having it but if i needed the money to go elsewhere then i could live without it x

It's not a necessity as we managed to live for a long time without it, but it does make life an awful lot easier

Technically its a luxury. We only got it at home 2-3 yrs ago, so I survived up until the age of 24 without it, going to friends or library when I needed to. In saying that Id be lost without it now, though all I use it for is forums, FB & ebay really. Oh and googling things that are irritating me.

The modern world is making it a necessity though. Alot of bills are cheaper if paid online, businesses prefer email orders rather than phone, colleges let you email assignments and not post them etc, applications for alot of jobs are online.... I know librarys are available but not 24 hrs a day but it takes too much time to go there just to send one Email.
I dont think its fair to the really poor either, literally stretch yourself to get a PC & pay £10-15 a month for internet or find it harder to keep up with the rest of the world....

not sure if this is all over britain but we have this shop near us that buys older pooters/laptops and takes donations of old ones refurbs them then sells them on with his guarantee ,,, but he does special for students they may not be the latest models but he ensures that the buyer is getting the right system for their needs

Definitly a luxury for me, i don't 'need' it for anything just for having a nosey really! I don't really go on unless i'm at my mums anyway as mine is really slow so i manage most of the week without going on.
It does make life a hell of alot easier though!

My brother has a free poker website where I help him and his business partner out by being their affiliate manager. Sounds more exciting than it is.
