ok so had routine appt with mw, bllod pressure, 100/60, no trace of anything in urine, so all good
measuring at 34cm, i am 34 weeks, nice

but no student mw then eamined belly and OMG she hurt, bubs is apparently breech, although my mw checked and was gentler and said not sure, so need to check.

not too worried as its doing flips all the time.
but since then i've been in pain and bubs is active as always but its hurting today.

i dont mind student mw's but god today i think will be my last yeah of course they can prod me for a while...

then i mentioned a little itching, so had bloods took, student mw dropped the cotton wool so i had needle hanging out arm while she found more.... my mw got a paper tissue in this time and took needle out, yup arm is black, nice bruise

sorry just had to moan.

so what do they do with a breech baby, i'm at hospital next week anywya and mw mentioned a nother scan, studen mw mentioned turning it, but was told not to worry the mom....

on another point 4 days left at work woohoo

Ouchy.... I always found that students were really gentle... god help whoever gets her when she is qualified!

Hopefully she is wrong and bubs isnt breach.

if bubs is breech they will scan and check at 36 weeks, is still breech you will be booked in for a section or given the option for them to attepmt to maually turn bubs. i was told to let hospital know as soon as labour started that she had been flipping regularly so they could check. But i didnt have a scan they just thought she had plenty of room

(she had flipped back by then)

I dont think they do anything til 36/37 weeks as they can flip around so uch. A was breech at 34 and 35 weeks, cephalic at my 36 week scan, breech at 37 and never found out whih way she was when they yanked her out a day shy of 38 but id wager still breech as shes still right curled up atm which my mw said is a breech baby thing and she may be for a wee while yet

Thanks ladies, I think with the stress of work, and then the student mw, I'd had enough this week. Roll on next Thursday when no more work xx thanks again.

Hiya, I have no experience of being breach but I thought I would say, if you wanted to give feedback to your regular MW about the student hurting you, they would probably really appreciate it as they are there to learn, and don't know if you don't tell them.

thanks em, the mw knew i wasnt happy because she wouldnt let her take the blood and also basically told her to be quiet when she started going on about the hosptial turning the baby.

but think i'll be thinking twice about students in the future
