Went to the supermarket yesterday, was packing up my shopping at the little packing counter they have, and there was a perfectly normal looking middle aged woman packing her shopping next to me. Well, she looked normal, but.. she pulled out a pack of raw meat, got a little plastic bag out and right on top of the packing counter ripped open this pack of RAW meat, grabbed out a handful with her BARE HANDS and shoved it into this plastic bag! then carried on packing away her shopping, put her stinky meat germ hands all over the trolley handle and wandered off..

I go really ocd about germs when i'm pregnant and that totally freaked me out! How am I supposed to protect me and bump when people do thick as sh*t things like that!! what if the next person to use the trolley was elderly, pregnant or a child, didn't realise it was dirty, put thier fingers in their mouth or their babies mouth after touching the trolley, and got really sick??? It was a trolley with a child seat bit too, so you know what little ones are like for putting their hands in their mouth.. eww it just made me so angry! How hard would it be to wait until you're home to do that?

Mind you , I did give her the evil eye and tell Milo in a loud voice that I couldn't believe how disgusting that was, so I feel better for that

Mind you, this comes a day after a woman shoved me a the local chemist/chocolate shop. She was trying to get down the chocolate aisle, and rather than walk around me (there was lots of space!) she decided to go through me. I was getting one of the staff to check something for me, so had the staff girl one one side of me, this prat on the other so don't know where she expected me to go Anyway she tried to shoulder me out of the way, I drew myself up to my whole totally unimpressive 5`6, shoved one finger in her face, the other at my clearly pregnant tummy and shouted "Don't you dare push!" Like, properly shouted! I was so proud of myself!

I think I'm having a hormonal week

That is absolutely disgusting, I now have a shopping trolley phobia to add to all my others Yuck some people need putting on a island away from the rest of us!!

loving the pregnant shouting, although hun its no better here, i nearly got runover by a runaway trolley at sainsburys yesterday, the old man just let it go. thank god i stepped forward otherwise i'd have been in a alot of agony and he would have got a mouth full and a half...

Clare, oh my gosh, I would have been furious whether it hit me or not! But I'm crazy when I'm pregnant, just want to erect a little fence around my bump to keep it safe from morons! Glad you were ok! The packing is going ok, finally got all our boxes shipped off, so they'll arrive around the same time baby does - or they'll be late and he'll spend a few weeks naked Just got to get rid of all our furniture and white goods now, they don't have anything like freecycle here, so we've got to chuck appliances that are only 3 years old - too sad. And PAY to get them taken away - just got quoted about 200 quid for the lot I'm just ignoring that and letting my husband stress about it

Eugh that is disgusting. Imogen is constantly noring at the trolley handle, i spend the entire trip to asda pulling her away cause i'm so paranoid about the germs.. that confirms my worries.

I'm sure people don't do that in England though, as you pack at the checkout so you don't really have time to faff around.. over here the checkout is just a till (nobody does a weekly shop, just one or two days worth) then you have to lug your stuff over to a packing table *frantically tries to reassure everyone who now has a new phobia*
