| My family have been asking for the last month what i want for my birthday, so i made an amazon wish list and gave them some ideas. However for the last week all i've had is phone calls saying 'this person doesn't want to buy you anything that you've put on your list, can you think of anything else?' / 'no they don't want to buy that either, can you think of something else?'. Even today (the day after my bday) i've had phone calls asking me to think of other things i want. Now I'm not ungrateful and i don't expect people to buy me anything and tbh i'm happy with just a card but it's really getting to me all this asking. I've made a list per request and is it really my problem if what i've asked for isn't the type of gift they want to buy. It's not even about money cause there's a wide variety of things that cost all diff amounts. There's a few things on my list that i really want (3 of them i've asked for for the last 2christmases and last birthday so i clearly really want them). Sigh... I'll be happy with whatever i get, just feel like it's become this whole stressful thing when i didn't even mind if they just bought me a card and came to the meal out. |

| I would feel the same - you've gone to trouble of doing a list and still not good enough!! If people dont want to buy what you want then really thats their issue and they shouldnt be pestering you! |

| Not at all - the opposite!
I NEVER give a list, Im happy to have anything someone wants to give me - my family used to ask for a list of stuff but after a few years of not getting on they gave up! |

xx I don't really know. I think it's cause my grandparents don't like to buy electronic/modern type gifts - I tend to ask for dvd box sets/cds. and my grandad wanted to buy something 'special' for my 21st, i listed a few things i wanted that i deemed 'special' but he didn't think they were special enough and basically just wanted to buy jewellery. |

| I would turn the question on them and ask what they want to buy you because clearly they know what they want to buy and it isn't on your list. |

| when someone asks me what i want i normally say oh anything, not bothered, but if you stuck a voucher for ???? would be great, then you can get what you want.
of course with russ i have to basically tell him what i want and then normally pay for it, i've not wrapped it yet, but it got close this year, infact it wasnt wrapped... |
