Imogen is doing my head in with hair-washing. She always had but now she has learned some charming phrases such as "No mummy noooooo!!" and "Don't like it - Yak!!" it's getting even more difficult.
Getting the hair wet in the first place is fine, and getting the bubbles in - no problem It's rinsing the bubbles out again that's a nightmare.
She categorically refuses to lie back in the water (tried using the old spongey thing she used to lie on - no good, leaning on the sloped back end of the bath, even lying on mummy - all no joy) so that's out.
We've tried one of those cap things - great at first but now she just pulls it off and gets upset.
We've tried holding a flannel cloth over her eyes to keep the water out - absolute panic!
Very briefly we succeeded in getting her to look at something up high so the water went backwards, but she soon cottoned on to what that was all about and goes back to panic again.
Very occasionally she will allow the shower to go near her, but not for long enough to actually rinse her hair.
Oh it's horrible. I feel like such a bully! I know I was bad as a child, but the flannel on eyes trick worked for me.
What else can I try? I'm on the verge of shaving her head!!
Thanks,
Em
