| i used to wash ava's hair over the sink but she's got too heavy and i can't manage it, in the bath she has a safety seat so its hard to get her to lean backwards ending up in shampoo in the eyes. any tips on how to make it easier? |

| no great tips but if you can manage i put my hand over elijah's forehead at his hairline and rinse his hair like that, although we do sometimes get leaks! I sometimes hold him with my knees to do that but its getting harder now he throws himself all over the place in boots today i saw a sort of sun visor type thing that you put round baby's head and rinse that way, but i don't know if they are any use. i also use a sponge to rinse eli so there isn't loads of water pouring onto his head...but i will be watching for tips too because it's getting trickier now he has his own ideas about what he wants to do |

| Well in our case we still haven't found a solution We just basically wash the bottom half of her head with shampoo and rinse the rest with water. I have seen this, and I keep meaning to buy one but havent got around to it yet http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Baby-Toddler-Eye-Ear-Shield-Shampoo-Bath-Time-/200500776023?pt=UK_Baby_Baby_Bathing_Grooming_LE&hash=item2eaec70c57 Dont know if they are any good but for a couple of quid might be worth a go? Actually I'm going to buy one now! xxx |

| we just put our hand over tylers hairline and rinse, he's normally pretty good and puts his head back but if it goes on his eyes he's fine too we just rinse it out |

http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Eye-Shampoo-Shield_25600/
Jaiden had 1 and it worked a treat with him (still does)
got 1 4 Sophia and it works ok as long as she dont decide to pull it off coz once they move after shampoo they wil not stay put she dont like having it put on so have to really distract her till she 4gets then i just gotta do it kwik until she gets bored with sucking the water out of the sponge LOL |

| I am probably seen as mean but I just pour the water over her head...and it goes all over her face, then I wipe her eyes with a sponge.
I do it that way cos I have a weird fear of water on my face, like from a shower, I feel like i cant breathe (fine swimming though lol) so I don't want her to be like me, would rather her get used to it.
p.s I do use tear free shampoo! |

| tbh it doesnt bother her too much when the shampoo goes in her eyes but she keeps getting a recurrent ear infection, its probably not related but i dont want excess water going into them. |

| I do the same as Lisa tbh - I do put my hand along her forehead in a fasion but it does go down her face a bit. I also have a fear of putting my face in water and don't want my kids to have it too. I literally justthrow jugs of water over Thomas' head now he is a bit older and he is fine with it.

| Im a bad mummy too who just gets the jug and pours it straight over her head 3-4 times in quick success. She's usually ok with the 1st cpl and then starts trying to escape, I promise 'last one' and she lets me do it as she knows that will be it over. I dont even wipe her face after with a sponge, she wipes her face herself with hand or just carrys on playing. MIL did get me one of those halo style hats but Caitlin just took it off! |

| Personally, am a bit like lisa in that we just pour the water over her head. We make sure it flows fast over her face and that stops it getting caught in her eyes. I think what has helped her be happy doing this though is going to her swim class and doing underwater stuff. To prepare for under water we do 3 sophia ready goes and on go pull water scooped from our hand down over her face. Having that warning helped her get used to the feeling of it and she just isnt bothered by water at all now. Mandy xx |

| I also chuck jugs of water over her, if she is grumpy she may sometimes moan a bit but to be honest i think she has got used to it now xx |

| There is a review of the jug thing on AB that archie did....
We use the shower head as its easier to control than a jug of water. Sophie doesnt care about it on her face at all but Andrew hates it so we use the shower head to try and minimise the water in his face.

| I had one of those visor things for Cerys, they do the job but she kept pulling it off Now I just use flannel on forehead and rinse quickly. Pinky i've still got the visor thing, it fits all round the head, if you want it I will send it to you. PM me your address x |

| I usually just put Wil in the shower with me and let the shower do the job.
I am also of the view of just do it quick and don't make a fuss. Small people generally hate hair washing in my experience so the sooner it is over with the minimal fuss the better. |
