Up until about 2wks ago Joshua was napping from 9-11am and 2-4pm, with Immi and preschool so school runs and him being a bit older it's been moved around a little so he goes down at 10am now and sleeps till 12 or 1, problem is he's a complete ratbag by 4. He just moans and cries. I've tried to put him down about 3.30/4pm (thinking he could have 30mins nap) but he just screams in his cot. I've tried shortening the morning nap so he's deff ready for 3.30/4pm nap but still no. I don't know what to do. He is deffinitely tired cause he's rubbing his eyes and crying but he just doesn't want to nap. If i keep him up downstairs he's crying on the floor or moaning at me, and that's really stressing me out Sad Do I just continue to try to get him to nap later, with CC (what i'm trying at the mo) ? or give up and let him scream all afternoon downstairs :/

I would think by this age he probably only really needs one nap a day. I'd try and keep him up until lunch if you can (I gave Jamie lunch by about 11.30ish) and this age and then put him down for a long nap. That certainly worked better for Jamie

How long does he scream for in the afternoon and what time does he go to bed?

What time does he get up? Does he only cry why you try and make him sleep? If so I'd probably just let him stay up and adjust. If his up early you could always try putting him to bed a bit later and getting him up later and then he could have a later nap

At Sophia's nursery, they at 1 go down to one nap. They have their lunch at 11.30 and from 12pm till 2pm they nap. Then at 18 months, lunch moved to 11.45 and nap at 12.15ish That worked well for Sophia.
