To boob or not to boob?

Do it but get a towel round you first.

Breastfeeding at the Swimming Baths? _
PostSubject: Breastfeeding at the Swimming Baths?   Breastfeeding at the Swimming Baths? EmptySat Dec 01, 2012 12:44 am

I've also posted this in a bf group on fb so apologies for duplication - just wanted opitnions from a wider group.

I
really want to take Jenny swimming but am worried about poolside etiquette
when it comes to breastfeeding. I'm pretty sure I've never noticed
anyone bf at the swimming baths, but not sure if that means I've never
seen it and thought nothing of it?

So could I just pop a
boob out poolside or would I have to huddle under a towel in the
changing rooms? I know it should be no different to any other bf in
public but I think as you tend to be rather underdressed anyway in these
situations, is bf a step too far?

Maybe I should wrap a towel round us both and do it that way - would I freeze otherwise anyway?
Anyone with any experience of this perhaps.
And what's going on with the random change of font mid-post???

Cheers xx

I have bf in the viewing area (when dressed) and in the changing rooms (in swimming clothing, although I think I got baby changed first for warmth).

To be honest they don't last long in the water when they are little - maybe 20 min at 4 months - so I can't see it being a problem (might be different on a beach type holiday if you are spending half the day by a pool I guess, but I'm assuming you're going to an indoor pool in the UK).

I would probably sit by the side wrapped in a towel. As said above though they don't tend to last in the water very long so I can't imagine it will be an issue. I also would have thought she would be too distracted to want to feed
