| hmmmmmm so after tea elijah had a weird red/slightly bumpy rash on one side of his face, the most probable culprits are: - he has fallen on it/hit it without us noticing, unlikely though cos it was the whole side - he has caught the sun a bit, possible as we were out a lot today - he had a reaction to the yogurt he had at teatime; the reason i am wondering this is that it's only the 2nd time he has had blueberries, my brother had a mild allergy to blueberries as a child (i texted to ask if he still did and he said he didn't know, so we will assume he has outgrown it :lol)
now, what is the best thing to do...give him blueberries again and see what happens, or keep him away from them for the timebeing just in case and give them in a few months???
it seems to have calmed down again and i have put him to bed but it was there for over an hour... |

| Did he have any reaction the first time? My nephew had lots of allergies. They were only told to avoid the ones with bad reactions (he ended up at the hospital a couple of times struggling to breath) and when they weren't sure to keep a food diary so they could be sure. I'd probably try him again based on that but it might be best to ask your dr and see what he thinks. |

| hmmmm no he was fine the first time - but apparently it's common for it to be a subsequent time because they have time to develop antibodies or something...he is going to the docs next week anyway so will maybe mention it, he definitely didn't have anything else new today but it seems unlikely he would just have a rash on one side of his face! |

| Yeah I think its actually more common if its going to be a bad allergy to develop it the second time. I would think he'd probably have symptoms other than a rash. With my food allergies I get tired and a dodgy tummy. My nephew always has trouble breathing with his. Hope you work it out |

| thanks, its tricky to know if he was feeling tired/irritable etc cos he is always tired and irritable not long after tea i think we will just wait and see and maybe try a tiny bit first thing in the morning in a few weeks |

| Wil used to come up in a red rash around his mouth with some foods. It would be there for an hour or so after he ate then go away. It didn't seem to bother him.
eggs and a cheese we hadn't had before are the ones I remember clearly. It even happened with pom bears once or twice
He has grown out of it now I think because it hasn't happened for a good while.
It may just be a baby thing and Eli will grow out of it like Wil |

| Chloe gets a rash around her mouth with tomatoes, but it doesn't seem to bother her in any other way. I would try him with a little bit and see what happens, but give it to him on it's own and not around other foods so you know for definite if it's that x |
