| Lewis has been a bit of a nightmare lately at night. Don't think there is anything wrong because if I put him in my bed he is fine. He will go off to sleep in his cot it's not as tho he screams the moment he is put in it but wakes up after half an hour sometimes longer. Anyhow am trying cc but last night he cried and was sick so being on my own I changed him and he came in my bed till oh came home when he put him in his own bed at 12.30. My question is if this happens again what should I do. Just clean him up and start again? I don't want him getting used to the attention, I maybe sounds harsh but I and my other son needs sleep so want to do this quick and that prob means cc, it worked with my other son. Any advice ladies xx |

| ^ we have been in this position for months and months - absolute nightmare really, i am still holding out and not happy to do controlled crying, but people seem to think that's the only thing that will work. we also had a book 'the no cry sleep solution' which was great, i am going to go back to it but with hubby just starting shifts again everything is all over the place! good luck |

| Is he being sick because he's getting himself so worked up? Oliver did a stage of this and although its upsetting to whiteness and the LO ends up getting more worked up because they've been sick, I would say the best thing to do would be to clean them/bed up giving very little attention and pop them back into bed.If the LO notices that you are getting upset due to the sickness, they will play on your insecurities and do it all the more. Mari - If your interested, a way of avoiding CC would be something similar to the PU PD routine (baby whisperer) |

| I would perservere with the cc and see how it goes over the next few days
The other option is to do a slow retreat from his room, just moving further and further away from the cot every few minutes until he is asleep.
Try putting a low light on and classical music on quietly to soothe him |

| I agree with Gill also ^^^^^^ We did the low music when he was about Lewis' age (stopping the dummy). Also did the gradual retreat when he'd moved into the big bed. x |

| I did cc with my two older children and we had a very positive result within 3 nights, 3 very hard upsetting nights. But it does work and the end result is child that sleeps and a happy mummy. I didn't haven't to do cc with ellie as she's always been a good a sleeper. Now and again ellie tries it on and won't go to sleep but I ignore her and she's usually asleep within 20 mins.
I know it's difficult but it's so worth it xx |

| Have u tried the pick up put down method? Whenever Noahs bedtime routine gets messed with i have to do this a couple of times. He normally stands in his cot and i go in, lie him back down and tuck him in. The most times i had to do that is 9 until he eventually settled and now he jus goes straight in. Char |
