Any advice welcome. Awens been on gaviscon about 10 days now and have had a little improvement. Shes feeding regularly and gaining weight and now shes front sleeping shes leeping better finally but last cpuple weeks shes been fighting her feeds and its getting worse. She will latch on and start to feed but then i think the acid comes up and she gets all flustered.

She lets go of my boob then grabs for it again then lets go and grabs and so on. She gets quite angry in the end and is kicking her legs and writhing and i end up having to take her off, soothe her with a dummy til she calms down then latch her back on. Sometimes swapping boobs can help cos she gets some foremilk i guess and a faster flow but before long it starts again. Its most feeds now id say.

Im gonna ring gp again on monday cos shes on a single dose gav cos shes under 10lb but even if they double it up i cant see how it will help as the gavs only to keep the food down im sure she needs something to lessen the acid production. Im actually really sore from it my flaming nipples look the rudolphs nose. Ive ended up givig her teething powder a cpuple times just to chill her out a bit which seems to help and today i added i gripe water which seemed to help a little. Its so unpleasant to see her so upset though and im gona write it down over weekend to tell docs

Just wondered if anyone had any tips. Its frustrating ive actually switched to combo feeding now cos i cant take it any more so she has a bottle of formula at bedtime (11pm feed) and i express then the following morning she has a bottle of ebm while i express ebm for gav for the day then i feed her myself during the day.

do you burp her between sides? it might be worth trying that though i expect you already have. another thing it could be is thrush - have you checked her mouth for any white spots? also if your nipples are itchy or sore or burny or tingly it could be that there is a bit of thrush starting, it made elijah very frustrated and agitated/restless at his feeds.

I do burp her between feeds though shes a lil shit for not giving it up ad can sit there for 10 plus mins winding her and in the end often stickig her on my shoulder and wandering works best. Will look in her mouth as boobs are sore and itchy but that could be cos shes grabbing em so much
