How many feeds a day does/did your 4 month old have? I'm bfing so I'm not sure how much Noah's taking each time, but he generally has 2 feeds in the morning, 2 or 3 in the afternoon, a big evening one then a smaller one after his bath. he then sometimes wakes up at 4/5am for a feed. So thats about 6/7 feeds a day. Does that sound about right?

roughly when did the gaps between feeds get longer with bf babies? I'm seeing if Noah can go 4 hours between feeds, but sometimes he seems to want feeding every 2 hours. i let him of course, but he ends up taking smaller feeds each time if you see what i mean. Is it too early to get him to go 4 hours yet?

Jamie was still feeding every couple of hours at 4 months but at 4 and a half switched to going longer. Mind you two weeks later he got his first two teeth and started eating more often again.



I wouldn't worry about it. He'll take what he wants. My youngest sister slept through the night (12 hours) but three weeks and she was bf. As long as his healthy his got what he needs

Dexter was having very similar amounts, it was only when he was on 3 solid meals a day that he went down to 4 (which he is still having). I would carry on as you're doing hun. xx

Thanks That's reassuring to know, I guess he's the best judge of how much he needs, so I'll just carry on doing what he wants for the time being He used to sleep through the night, but since he caught his cold he often woke up with a stuffy nose so he's got himself back in the habit of waking up. Sure we'll get back to normal soon!
