| we're hoping to find out if we're having a boy or a girl tomorrow I am absolutely completely convinced that we're having a boy though. It will come as rather a shock if they tell me pink, not that I mind either way but I just feel like it's a boy! very excited ! x

Thank you, it's hubby's birthday today too so it'll be lovely to find out today and make sure everything is ok Baby has been rather awkward at the last 2 scans though so they'll probably keep their legs firmly crossed xx

Everything was absolutely perfect but the little terror refused point blank to let us see, however many times we tried told you this one's awkward . They looked really different to Stephen in the face too which sounds odd but I thought they'd look similar iykwim They were measuring smaller than Stephen did at this stage though so I'm hoping that means I won't have another whopper fx! Just glad everything looked ok xx

We're seeing the consultant on Thursday and we're going to discuss having a growth scan so if I'm definitely getting one then we'll just wait till then I think. I'm still convinced it's a boy though xx

Thats good you'll get another scan and hopefully find out then. Just wondered how big Stephen actually was? as my friend had a big baby and is seeing consultant, but Immi was only a couple of oz smaller and consultant care has never been brought up with me. Wondered if there was a certain weight when they refer to consultant care.

My niece refused to show her bits at her scan too so you could be right Tara! Stephen was 10lb 13.5oz Shell, his head got stuck because it was too big to fit through at 38 cm so I had an emergency section. I know another lady who had a baby the same size but gave birth naturally so they said they would keep an eye on the size next time but wouldn't necessarily worry as much, so I think it depends on the circumstances really xx

Oh wow that's big, no wonder he got stuck. Immi was 9lb 12oz and I delivered naturally so guess that's why they arent worried about this little one.

Glad everything went well and hopefully you find out sex at growth scan. Cant believe the weights of your babies! Caitlin was 8lb 1oz and people make out that she was quite big. To be fair her est weight at growth scans was 5 or 6lb. Caitlins head was 35cm and I needed an episotomy. I think most of her weight was in her head and thats why the scan was so out, tiny skinny thing with lollipop head!

I remember when I'd just had Immi at the baby clinic people were always talking about their big babies and births, then they'd ask me how big Immi was an promptly stop complaining I had a scan at 32wks cause my waters had a tear, and they looked at her size, she was measuring big, and est. weight was big. i remember saying thats big is that a problem and drs were like no no it's fine she's not big she's normal. Pfft. It really pissed me off. I guess i'm lucky I didn't have a more difficult birth though. I would have been a lot more pissed off then seen as they could have done something but ignored the info.

Shell the doctors said the same to me, I had a growth scan and he seemed big to me but they said it was fine and he was average and they didn't need to follow it up. Because mine ended up the way it did I made a complaint, for other reasons too (mainly them carrying on with the section despite me telling them the anaesthetic wasn't working and I could feel everything and being told I was whingeing ) and when I got my notes it said that at my growth scan he was measuring on the 97th centile. Now to me that's big! So I don't see why they even did a scan if they were just going to ignore the results! Thankfully you didn't end up in the same situation too as it sound like they ignored your too xx

God that sounds like a really traumatic birth... and you're pregnant again?! Sounds like I really was lucky then that nothing awful happened in birth. Did anything come of your complaint or was that ignored to?

I know I'm mad aren't I There were a lot more bits to the complaint too but I met up with the head midwife and head consultant and had an apology and lots of reassurances about this time and how different my care will be. I feel like I'm in a better position to argue my case this time too as all the midwives I've met so far are horrified with what happened and said I'll be looked after much better so fingers crossed I will! xx
