| OMG - I am an absolute complete muppet!!!!! I have decided that my 'distraction technique' for my CBT would be sorting out Islas room....somewhere that is all lovely and girly, and Cath Kidston type styled. Well, its not going great!!!!!!!!!! I borrowed my mums sewing machine off her (shes a bit good on them - lol), and she taught me the basics. Ive made a stencil for some bunting, and have cut piggin millions of triangles out (took me 4 hrs). They are all pinned good sides together, ready for sewing.... I get to the sewing machine bit..........and bloody hell.......I cant sew in a straight line!!!! Its like spagetti junction!!!! So, , Im back off to it in a minute to 'try try again' |

| Lol sounds like me! Sewing machine just flat out scares the crap out of me now.
I attempted bunting but gave us and bought one in Next for £10! Really pretty, bit cath kidston looking, way better than I ever could do it. |

| Are you sure the presser foot is down?! It should hold the fabric quite firm and then so long as you hold the end of the fabric still and move your hand towards the needle it should go straight
So basically put the fabric on and then pinch the fabric where you want your sticthing to end, or if its big just do it 4 inches away from the nedle, make sure that where you pinch it is bang straight in front of the needle...now press the foot and the material will get pushed through by the feet, gently but firmly hold the material (dont stop it) and it should go through fine! |

| Well Lisa funny you should say that! Chris has just told me that the pedal was the wrong way round for starters , thats still no excuse for not going straight though! Thanks for advice Lisa, Im just gearing myself up for part 2. Ive got some practice pieces cut now xx Shell, I bought a lovely one myself for Jess's room for a tenner, but Ive got it in my head that i want to do Islas all myself as a bit of a project.... Poor bugger is goin to be 18 before ive finished |

| lol Jess - the presser foot is the bit on the top, around the needle, that holds the fabric down (can be a zipper foot or other kinds)...the other things is the foot pedal! |
