well as some of you are aware, we have been slowly talking to rich about birds and bees, we have had to start with what is a relationship, oh the joys of explaining homosexuals to rich..

anyway tonight russ was caught up at work and it was the boys bath time and i thoguht i'd let lucas go in with rich, for 5 mins, he might like it as he adores rich and last time we did rich told everyone about being big brother and caring for lucas, even though we were all in thebathroom.

so i've already told rich to go and get in the bath, (he sits in the bath while it fills, i dont know why, but he does),
i'm walking upthe stairs telling lucas he going to have a bath with his big brother and i get smiles, i walk into the bathroom too.

rich lying in bath, a quick hand movement and something that no mother should see......

i closed the door and informed lucas that he could have a bath on his own as rich was busy...

OMG i could curl up in a ball and hide, i really didnt think we were at that point yet, i mean he still sleeps with his teddy bear, i know its normal but hes my little boy and thats just scarey.

well anyway i am now knocking doors before i enter them, which russ thinks is hilarious and told russ he needs to talk to him about things, to make sure he is ok.

I KNOW this will make most of you howl with laughter and that is fine, but i just wanted to share my mommy moment of the day

How embarrassing! Does he know you saw? I worry about things like this with my stepson I really do!

It did make me smirk but also a bit at the idea that one day im gona have to talk about masturbation! The sex talk is easy in comparison I think!

Eeek. Id prob get russ to tell him its normal, and gives nice feelings but its private and something to do when no one is around. Im cringing at the idea of having to say that to my own son but. It would almost be easier to walk in on a 16 yr old doing it who you know understands all that rather than have to deal with embarassment and the 'talk' at the same time!

I've never talked about mastubatiiin with my kids. I've always been open and answered their questions but we've never talked about this. I think I just assumed theyed learn about it from their friends.

This thread has made me think carfully about walking into my 14 year old sons room. I think it's time to start knocking
