Woman 1: I had him by c section but it isnt taking the easy way out

Woman 2: Give natural childbirth a go then try telling me a csection isnt the easy way out

I nearly chewed my own tongue off keeping quiet...

Ooh I'd have had to say something, it really pees me off when people think c sections are easy. I'd have swapped in a heartbeat if I could have done

Makes me mad women who have c sections have to explain or justify themselves.

I had two emergency sections though the second was meant to be planned but awen had other ideas. After C I had 4 weeks of not being able to drive, pain and itching for weeks while healing, an infection. After A I had morphine for pain relief cos I was also sterilised and no bugger told me it was more painful being sterilised at the same time so I jumped out of bed and walked to the toilet after 7.5 hours then paid for it later I couldnt pick C up, anothr 4 weeks of not driving, ingrown stitches i ended up cutting out myself with a mirror and a scalpel cos they didnt dissolve....

I know natural childbirth is no picnic either but what right do women have to judge something they have never tried, id never judge natural childbirth cos i only ever got to 3cm dilated before they had to section me. Why is there this pointless competition that makes women feel inadequate. Childbirth is childbirth whether they come out the emergency exit or not

I have had 2sections and one naturally and both hurt like buggery be it during or after! Although with Rhys I felt them stitching me up so got the during too with that one! So what ever way you look at it childbirth isn't easy! But it does my head in like you say Mario that you have to justify a section!

One of the othe rmothers said this to me in hospital just after had id amelia. I nearly killed her. Ended up having a mega rant and telling her if you think being cut open, having major surgery and the being released 16 hours later to travel 60 miles to see your baby is the easy option then she must be thicker than she looks!
I've done it both ways and I would take a natural birth every single time

I think c-sections have been glamorised by celebs and all this too posh to push milarky.

I gave birth au natural and its fecking hard work but OMG I really take my hat off to those who have gone through a c-section. I don't believe for one second that its a walk in the park - The needle in the back sends the ebijebi's through me, and the recovery afterwards.
Me and my mum were actually discussing this the otherday, she had an emergancy c sec with my bro, and natural with me. They made a righ balls up of her c sec (it was an emergancy but even so..) the wound got major infected and ended up splitting open again and she went through and awful time all round. With me, natural..she got an epidural cos she convinced herself it would end in another c sec but the epi failed to work down one side of her body Rolling Eyes which led to a forceps delivery

Like you say, how can people judge if they've never been through it Rolling Eyes

I was gona say unless you experience one of each you cant compare, but even thats not true as every birth is dif as is every recovery period from a c-sec. You cant compare & competing is stupid.

Id hate to have a c-sec. I remember on the ward walking about being induced and having to pass babys to mums who'd had c-secs the night before (I wasnt a weirdo btw, we had all had inductions the previous night and they ended up in labour/c-sec's and I had to wait 2nd night for another pessary). I felt so sorry for them not being able to move.

One girl said to me that she felt sorry for me, as they had heard me wailing in the bath on my own most of the night contracting while they were lying with their newborns. We didnt compete, I felt sorry for her in one way and she felt sorry for me in another. Why cant mums just be nice to eachother???

^^^ haha Kayleigh before we all lynch you lol!

I am terrified of sections, but then my friend laura had one recently and said it was fine. She had no probs with it and doesnt know why she worried about it. I think id do all I could to avoid one BUT I have to say if baby was breech I think I would try and get one. I am absolutely terrified of the idea of manually turning the baby. Makes me feel a bit ill!

This really really annoys me! I did the whole labour and pushing before I had my emergency section so I feel like I've at least experienced part of a natural birth but I am desperately hoping for a natural birth this time so I don't have to go through another section! Every single birth is different so you really can't compare the 2 at all, some c sections will be better than others, some natural births will be awful and some will be better, it's ridiculous to say a section is the easy way out Shocked

I had to suffer feeling them doing the section because the anaesthetic didn't work, had the anaesthetist not believe me and I was told I was whingeing despite the screaming! Then had a massive bleed afterwards and then a really bad infection which resulted in my wound bursting open, me spending another week in hospital and having to be cared for for 3 months at home by nurses until the wound actually closed again, now I'd like her to tell me that was the easy option!

Sorry ranted a bit there Embarassed

I had a natural birth with Ollie but was the only 1 out of the 6 of us on the ward - the rest had C-sections. They all looked like shit!! I was up and about, peeing by myself, looking after my own baby without having to buzz a midwife to pass him to me etc etc. I know which one I'd choose again!

i've natural delivery with both boys and have to say i'd do it again, even though my bp was very low, epidural took 7 attempts, being sick, feeling like crap and being shattered,
i still have problems walking, standing for long periods and holding little man,
i would do it again, for me its the thought of having to stay in hosptial and not being at home and the longer period to feel yourself and all the restrictions on what you can and cant do.

i was not happy when the doc suggested c-section, lucky for me the mws said to induce me first, lucas had other ideas.

but i dont think either is easy, and as snoops said everyones experience is different and different for each birth, what i experienced others might think it was easy or just horrid, to me, i'm just grateful i got to experience it again ( in a sloppy moood tongiht) lol

I've had 3 sections and 3 different experiences.
1st was 20 hours labour and then emergency section - So traumatic as I was put to sleep and missed the birth.

2nd - was elective and was a wonderful experience with no pain and no stress and was fully aware of the moment he was born.

3rd - (which should have been elective) 4 hours labour (OMG it hurt) and then emergency section, but thankfully I was awake.

So although Ive done labour, I've never actually done child birth (I do feel a bit cheated) but for me c-sections are fantastic and an easy option.

BUT - everyone is different, some people can give birth without problems, without cuts etc but for me my first experience of almost giving birth could have killed me and almost certainly killed my baby - so for me sections are the easy option.

I know what you mean nics.

When I was having Ellie I begged them to let me try but they wouldn't hear of it.

On a positive note and far too much info, when I go for a smear the nurse always laughs and says I have a perfect cervix that's never been traumatised with childbirth lol

I dreaded having a c-section the whole way through pregnancy although after 30 hours of labour was glad for it! I don't see that it matters how you give birth
