| depends a wee bit on how many teeth she has i think! and a little bit on age/what she has already tried so things like egg, wheat and cows milk be a bit careful with at first. soft fruits cut up, cucumber, cooked chicken, ham or bread (bit salty), cheddar cheese or philly (salty too), breadsticks if she can manage, oatcakes, organix snacks, dips like guacamole or hummous, par-boiled carrot or sweet potato, ripe avocado, bananas/par-boiled harder fruits like apples, tortillas, boiled rice, boiled egg, pasta in different shapes, homemade fairy cakes with things like ginger or vanilla flavours. ummmmmmmmmmmmmm depending on how messy you do/dont mind, yogurt and puddings like rice pudding/jelly/fruit puree are good for playing with and practising with spoons. you can also cook thick porridge oats with water or milk, then pour it into a bowl or tray (tupperware tub is good) and put it in the fridge to set - really good for snacks as you can cut it into cubes and its nice and soft/nice to play with! obviously early on you would just stick with fruits and very simple things but a bit later its nice to add new textures, elijah still loves having grated cheese/mince or chicken/tortillas and passatta in piles on his plate then he can make his own fajitas sorry, went on a bit there! |

| oh, also baked potatos (just the insides but the skin is good too when they are better at chewing) are good if you just reheat them slightly as you can do them well in advance |

| Dexter LOVES toast, he'll finish off a whole slice within minutes - he's a little piggy He's not having anything dairy at the moment so I give him jam or marmalade, if I was going to give him butter I would just give him the same as what we use which is normal salted butter - cant be doing with buying separate things for him |

| I just give Jamie what we have and keep an eye on his salt intake. For lunch he generally has a sandwich and then a load of fruit and veg so strawberries, tomatos, banana, apple, pear, grapes cut in half, blueberries, etc. He also has baby snack things - the crisps and ricecakes- and generally has a fromage frais. I think to begin with we tended to give him cucumber (which he loved) and a range of fruit. He was very fond of melon to begin with although tends to prefer things like pineapple now. Hard boiled egg is another favourite and so is corn on the cob
TBH we've only done blw weaning and I have generally just gone with giving him anything and not worrying too much about what he eats (although I do cheat now and often feed him runny food). She'll still be getting what she needs from the milk so I'd give her whatever you want and let her have a play |
