We hired one recently, just the small one and it was blinking hard work but worth it. We have beige carpets too and it brought out loads of dirt, unfortunately they don't stay that way!

yep i (heart) rug doctor, we bought the detergent once and after that its really cheap to hire so long as you keep your own bubbly stuff. its a pain in the *rse moving it around and getting it done, but worth it.

Not had that exact brand, but they are all the same really!
We've hired them a few times - had cream carpet in the front room of the cottage and cleaned it when we left, same as bungalow...they do work really well - but best done and then the room left - I find if the room is used it goes back dirty looking quite soon as the carpet isn't 100% dry

I don't have carpets down stairs - too much hassle...wood and tile all the way for me!
