well as a lot of people know me and nick barely get to see my family they get 4 wks holiday a year and for the 1st time this year have a week together, so have offered for us to go and stay for a week shortly, but does anyone know if nick is still activily searching for work and goes to jobcentre at my parents is he still entitled to payment, if a job became available he would just come straight back?

they say if you are away from your home town on 'holiday' then you can't be actively seeking work so they can and will stop the jobseekers...i know someone that went on a weeks holiday, declared it before going, didn't miss a sign on session and had her money stopped.

If you declare you are going away on holiday they will stop the jobseekers allowance for the week/fortnight you are away. If you do not declare it and are found out Nick could end up going to prison. Personaly I'd rather lose a weeks money. When I was on JSA I declared that I was going to Austria snowboarding for a week so they could stop it for the week I was away then I went in the Monday after I got back (I got back on a Sat) and re-signed on.
