Is anyone else who has a no-nappy toddler just amazed how easy life is now lol?! Nappies/Pull ups are just so darn annoying!

I just keeping looking at her little bum that isn't all padded and thinking wow such a simple thing has made my life so much easier...and what can I spend that extra money on...saving for xmas I think Laughing you know it works out about £30 saved from pull ups a month (I still buy wipes though although i dont think I use as many)

All I need to do now is teach her how to cook her dinner...she isn't far off...just tends to eat it out of the saucepan while its cooking Wink

Oh thats another thing...how much do you let your toddler (Izzy being 2.5) help in the kitchen? Izzy stands on a high backed chair (so she cant fall onto the hob) and stirs things. She is very good and knows not to touch the red glass and doesn't poke her fingers in, although she does try to eat what it is...so have to careful she doesn't eat it when its hot. If we make cakes she does some mixing and scooping

Do you let your toddler help cooking?

I have started to, he makes his own sandwiches which is funny to watch him do lol, and since I started baking again he has been helping.

Can't wait to not have the hassle of changing him though xx

DO NOT talk to me about the price of nappies, having 2 in them is looking more likely Rolling Eyes

As for cooking Caitlin does nothing... but that may be because I too do nothing Embarassed Laughing I dont think it would be safe to allow her to stick a tray of wedges and a pizza in the oven, nor would it be much use/fun to press START on the micro to heat the microwave mash or veg up.

In all seriousness yes I make spaghetti bolognese, fajita's (old el paso kit Wink ) and chicken breasts in foil etc but Iv never really thought of letting her help. Iv just taught her to stay away when oven on so now she doesnt come near me and either sits at table and colours or watches a bit of a dvd in front room.

I think i'l start with rice krispie buns or something simple. She decorates gingerbread men but thats more art than cooking lol

i wouldn't say elijah helps much, but if he is around he loves to sit in his highchair and watch, he will also 'help' if you give him a bowl and a whisk or a wooden spoon and some lentils or dry pasta etc he will mix them and spoon them in and out and things Easy Life! 270211

No way, its get out of the kitchen time when i am cooking!! ALthough chel and tom can cook quite well.

Although i do let the kids do all the weighing and stiring and stuff mainly sam and archie breaking eggs (and shells) into it when making buns, it does result in some pretty nasty buns but hey ho they will learn and they still eat them Laughing

LOL I got one out of nappies only to have another to have one in. Hopefully in 2-3 years I'll never have to buy anymore nappies again.

As for cooking Gosh Rowan has been helping for ages, i'm sure since he was around 1 or maybe 11 months. He peels onions and mushrooms, breaks broccoli. these things i'm happy for him to do on his own.

He has asked to peel the potatoes we tried doing this together but he does not yet understand not to clamp his whole hand around the potato.

we cut things together, he'll have his hand on the knife i have mine over his hand and on the knife and on the item we are cutting.

He helps with almost everything else but it's with me i'm holding them as well.

Havent done any cooking with Sophia for ages but the successes have been making our own pizza, with all the ingredients ready to spread/pile on, cutting out cookie dough and the ready mix cake kits. I have made my own cakes with her but sooooo much easier and more manageable witht he kit. She also helps me by putting the vegetables into the pans before i cook them.

Her fav job though, is as chief tatser of mummy's cheese sauce! And very good at it she is too! LOL

Lol Mandy Izzy is a good taster too....except she scoffs loads!
We were making a puff pasty pizza the other lunchtime and she ate so much cheese, tomato, etc...and raw puff pasty( scratch surely not nice) ... that she hardly ate any of it when I cooked it!

I know what you mean about no nappies, we went out for the day today it's o nice not thinking about taking nappies and wipes and thinking about whether she needs changing. I'm saving so much money on nappies now. Just one aday we use now when she goes to bed.

She doesn't help with regular cooking that much, but we do quite a lot of fun cooking together, making cakes, biscuits, bread etc and I let her do the lot except putting it in the oven. She loves it Very Happy

Life is so much easier I must admit. Not always easy in the respect when your out and about and tour child is desperate for a weeee!!! Lol and there's no toilets

I haven't really noticed a saving in £££'s cos he used reusables. He still uses one at night so I don't need to wash as often.

As for helping in the kitchen he does a little such as opening the micro door for me lol putting stuff in the bin/wash etc. He'll 'wash' some pots for me and be my general running boy lol

He's got no patience when it comes to actual cooking, he gets quite irritated by it all, he'd rather just sit at the table and watch (typical bloke Rolling Eyes )

I find it very annoying in shops when hannah needs a pee and they say no she cant use theirs. pets at home have been the only shop that have let her in the back to use the staff one. but apart from that its great.

and yes hannah helps in the kitchen she bakes a lot with me, she puts things on the oven tray, stirs the pots

I cant wait for this day! I am making headway with Aimee's potty training, as we had held off until after her Southampton hospital stay, and she really wasnt ready/listening.

The last couple of days she has done so well in going in her potty, but after a couple of hours, she loses interest, so im just working on the first couple of hours each day this week in the hope she grasps it.

I think I have a long way to go until all of my brood are out nappies at the rate we are having babies, lol. I spend a fortune on nappies, wipes and frigging baby milk!

its great having no nappies... dita hasjust started (at home) being without them throughout the day and we are hardly using any nappies now!

As for cooking, braden helps peeling potatoes carrots and counts out what i need out the freezer or fridge and he gets me the bowls and plates etc but i've never let him near the ovencos he would touch it anyway lol x

I'm loving no nappies!!! Not sure I'm saving any money yet but I'm getting time back which is fab!

Amelia loves to help with all cooking, however as my time's quite limited, being on my own, I tend to let her help with fun things like cakes and with getting things from the fridge, otherwise she gets to play or watch a bit of Cbeebies to keep her from under my feet. She gets her cooking experience with her Grandma who has limitless patience and will let Amelia help with EVERYTHING.
