hey ladies..just wondering if any of your little ones has servere eczema? my little boy is going to be 2 in dec and has had it since he was around 10weeks old...its been a hard almost 2 years and night time used to b a massive struggle as i would literally have to rub his skin all over so he could get 2 sleep and then he would wake countless times a nite screaming in pain and scratchin his skin till it bled!

i just wish it was me instead of him..he doesnt know any different as hes had it 4 so long but i hate the fact hes in pain! hes been on a soya, lactose and dairy free diet since he was 1 and im only now just introducing little bits other wise he would stay intolerant 4 the rest of his life Sad

has any1 else had a problem with there little ones like this? if so feel free 2 message me as i know almost everything there is 2 know about it now lol. xxx

xx

Hey,

Andrew has excema it has got loads better the last year since we switched to dermol! He still has a bad patch behind his knee but that is more because he scratches and picks it until it bleeds but even that is improving !

Andrew has been on nutramigen since he was a couple of months old and still has it because he throws up if he drinks cows milk and will not drink soya not even flavoured soya! He can however have dairy products, oddly enough they are his favorite foods! Cheese yogurt etc Smile

I know how you feel I would swap places in a heartbeat so he didn't have to go through it!

Hopefully your little lad will grow out of it!

heya, elijah has very mild excema (although we aren't actually convinced it IS excema, i think its just some vague dermatitis which he will grow out of) but we haven't had to change his diet. we do use dermol too every night and in the mornings if it's bad - he loves 'helping' and smooshing it all over our faces Laughing

i do hope for you and your son that he does grow out of it and you can safely introduce new foods for him Smile

Hiya,

Not a child I know, but a colleague of mine has really really bad excema and recently did a whole skin patch test thing at the hospital. It turned out she was allergic to latex (which she knew already as she couldn't wear the latex gloves), but there is actually latex in loads and loads of skin products, but it isn't listed on the ingredients (sneaky!).

She now uses doublebase gel and is finding that a lot better - all the ointments, creams and lotions all had sneaky latex in.

From a personal front, since having Imogen I've developed a sensitivity to something (but I don't know what) that is in a lot of hand creams including E45 and Aqueous cream. I'm now using diprobase and find that really helps.

funny you should say that but i found diprobase, e45, aqueous all suddenly started giving me itchy blisters on my hands...elijahs dermol works great (thief!) though and so does norwegian formula unscented hand cream Smile

sorry a bit of a post hijack there! Smile
