weanings went really well with ava and ive got her on 3 meals a day, she still seems to be wanting the same amount of milk feeds though , is this normal? as soon as i give her lunch, she wants milk straightaway, shes not still hungry because she wont take more food, ive tried her with water incase shes thirsty but she wont take it.

I tried separating milk and feed times at about 6 months as all he wanted his milk not food
this was matthews routine:
7am milk
7.45-8.30 breakfast
10am milk
12md lunch
2-3pm milk
4.30-5pm tea
7pm milk

then when he went down to 3 bottles of milk i dropped the 10am milk and brought the lunch forward to 11am and then gradually moved it back when he could go that long.

We had exactly the same routine as Claire and worked well for us. I then offered water with meals too

would that work with breastfeeding as well?, ive never had a feeding routine just feed her on demand.

I would maybe stick with what milk she wants for now - so long as she is getting varied diet and plenty of tastes in her then it shouldnt matter that she has the milk too

Izzy still had a lot of milk on top of her food at 6 months and I just let her take what she wanted, she dropped it when she was ready

I imagine it's harder when breastfeeding as it mainly is on demand. Matthew never really demanded food, i could miss a meal and he wouldn't get cranky so i've always tried to stick to certain times so i ensure he gets his requirements in between 7am and 7pm.

Alfie still gets his 4 8oz bottles a a day and i just follow his first 3 with brekkie, dinner and tea.
