I need to get tyler into his big bed but he doesn't want to he has his cot and big bed in his room at the moment so I made his big bed up all nice for him and every time I try to put him in he shouts out NOOO cot and gets quite upset. I don't want to just take the cot away and upset him.not sure what the right thing to do is...

Try play sleeping in the bed with toys rather than him, also play at hiding under the cover, sitting reading a book to him, showing him how to get up and down from the bed...get him comfy being in and on the bed before putting him to sleep,

then when he seems happy try a nap and ask him which he's like maybe suggest the bed is more comfy, for big boys etc

He will soon feel happier about the bed!

have you taken the side off his coat yet for him to get used to it being open? xx

no not taken the side off yet - I have thought about that but am waiting for OH to do it

I'll nag at him to get it done tomorrow and hope Tyler will go to bed without it on... then take it from there.

Lisa he's always on the bed and he knows it's for sleeping in as he was pretending to sleep in it the first time we put the duvet cover on and told him it was his new bed he just seems ummm not scared but not sure if it either.

I took the side off Cerys's cot myself - it's easy Maybe he feels secure and enclosed in his cot and the bed just seems a bit scary and big xx
