| Awww poor little man,
My little one hasn't had a temp recently (touch wood) but my eldest was terrible when he was teething, each tooth brought a chest infection and high temps, but now at 12 he's fine.
Hope he gets better soon |

| Not recently (touch wood) but early last year Bethany's hit 40.2, I took her to hospital and she had a throat infection, was given anti-biotics and I think the temp finally went after about 2 days. It usually takes about 24-48 hours for the tablets to get into the system. Also, you can alternate calpol with ibuprofen, I did it every four hours. Hope your little man is ok soon. xx |

Hope your little man is ok soon. xx Just read this back, sorry I meant it takes 24048 hours for anti-biotics to get into the system not tablets!! |

| Its the start of the season for allsorts now. Regular calpol and ibuprofen will take care of it and dont freak if it doesnt go totallyback to normal, under 38.5 is fine. Its the body fighting infection.
Im a wicked mother I kept C at home with a temp of 40.6 before now as I knew it was viral and figured they would only do what I was doing at home if i went to hossie |

| Thankfully, touch wood, Izzy hasn't been ill like that for almost a year when she was really ill and had to have an inhaler. Im sure she had a temp when she was sick in Cornwall but I didnt have a thermometre, wouldnt have been really high though |

| Oh poor baby, I hope he feels better soon Milo had a fever just over 40 degrees when he was a little over a year old, with a viral infection, he had antibiotics but he did take a couple of days to get back to normal - about 24/36 hours for the fever to completely come down, then another day or so until he was back to his normal bouncy self. Hang on in there, it's horrible when they're sick isn't it. |

| No antibiotics wont do anythying for a viral infection they only fight bacteria. Viral infections have to just run their course. TBH it sucks at the time but most of these things naturally burn themselves out, like i say thats what a temp is for. Having a high temp in itself isnt actually horrifically dangerous its only when it spikes really suddenly its a problem. In terms of temperature related fits which is what scares people its safer to have a high temp for a while than one that shoots up rapidly from normal |

| how is he this morning ? nothing worse that an ill child xx mario , when i had my first i had no clue about this fitting from temp business , it was when my son was a baby and got a temp my dad drummed it into me basically put the fear of death into me over fitting , i think it happened to my brother and scared him so he passed his fears onto me , he used to say to me you cannot sleep you have to watch him all night and from that day on whenever any of mine are ill i am lucky if i sleep a couple of hours because of the worry x |
