Anyone doing EASY routines? _

Decided to try the baby whisperer EASY routines for Noah as I think i have messed up is sleep/nap/feeding patterns somewhere Rolling Eyes Is anyone else's baby on this kind of routine? He seems to want to feed every hour and I'm sure he doesn't need it at this stage, so trying to get him out of the habit of snacking every hour, so he can have a full feed every 4 hours. Does that sound about right for a nearly 6 month old?

I loosely follow this as I basically dont have a routine Laughing Joshua however does feed, have a stare about, then fall asleep & I then rush and do a pee/wash btls/dress Caitlin Very Happy As he gets older think il make more of an effort with it but as atm its just a coincidence really he in this pattern and tbh sometimes he does eat and go straight to sleep during the day but im not worrying as he so teeny.

I think feeding every 4 hrs seems right for a 6month old (How on earth is he 6mths??? Shocked ) Are you weaning atm too? Every hr does sound like he having an all day snackfest which Im sure is exhausting for you so if I was you id be keen to cut it down. Does he drink water from a cup? Could he be thirsty if he being weaned? If he not being weaned do you think maybe he is ready for baby porridge/puree's etc and could be hungry? Im not really sure what to suggest apart from making him wait, which seems hard to do if he screaming, or try and pick up on sleep cues and find other ways of getting him to sleep apart from feeding - which im guessing is happening if he feeding that often.

Hmmm not the most helpful answer ever Laughing

This is probably the only good thing about Amelia being in hospital so long. SHe came home on a 4 hour feeding schedule and has remained on it. Hmmm that doesnt really help you but that what they done for all the babies there so Im sure its fine for a 6 month old x

Thomas has got a bit of a routine with feeding now because he was having loads of short feeds and I didn't feel that he would then have a proper feed and get full up iykwim? I definitely think that will help to get him to go a bit longer in between so that when he does feed, it's a really good one. I've found Thomas much more settled now he's on 5 good feeds a day rather than lots of small ones xx

yes I did the EASY routine with Cerys and it worked wonders. I think Tracy Hogg's books are fantastic. She has down to earth, common sense advice on how to handle routines, sleeping feeding etc. Hardly ever had problems with her sleeping or eating. I really am a fan of a good routine, it makes baby fell secure and more likely to settle better xx

I followed EASY with both mine and its brill, have to see I had Awen on a 2 hour turnaround fpr a long time though (!) due to the reflux making her feed lil ad often but thats the beauty of EASY-you can change it that way. Tracy Hogg is so common sense. Both mine beneiftted from it i think. Awens a bit of a bugger with sleeping but we are mostly down to just a dummy run a night now and otherwise both are v secure and happy in what happens in a day and its easy to transfer it to other peopls houses for that

We tried it (along with pretty much everything else except Gina Ford) and it didn't work. Mind you it does seem that Jamie just wanted to eat constantly and not get in a routine. I have friends that swear by it though
