Just wondering what nursery you all have/are planning on sending your kids to?? iv never really considerd private tbh iv just always planned on using the school nursery as i did with leo, and like all my family have done, leos classmates all wen to his nursery and i like the idea of that...wasnt till i started using this site did i realise so many people used private ones...so just being nosey really lol x

private for now i think (if i do need to use one this year i don't think the school ones accept toddlers under 3 do they??? not sure), but yeah probably private as i don't know where we will be living and it will be handier to have one near work - plus more choice.

I'm using both.

Thomas started at private day nursery (pre-school room) 3 weeks ago and has settled in well. I have applied for him a place at two school ones but both only do a September intake and with Thomas being a December baby he is entitled to his free hours now so we got him in private. I'm not sure what I will do in September yet, if I feel he is doing well in private and settled then I may leave him where he is and if not I will move him to the school. Both nurseries are right next to the school anyway so I imagine kids who go to both will eventually go to that school. I like the way the private nursery does 2 x 6 hour days and 1 x 3 hour as opposed to the 5 x 3 hour that the school one does so we will see how we feel in the summer as to whether we move him or not.

When leo turned 3 i worked evenings so just sent him in the sept school intake...didnt really think about his free hours tbh lol should have done!! Oliver will be 3 end of aug anyway so schools take on a few days after x

Im not sure what mine is tbh .

Its not attached to the school or anything but is only open in the mornings and term time only, if that makes sense?

Oh, and also you can only start there when you are over 2.5.

We use a private one (although its in school grounds) and will continue to use it even when Jamie's three.

I will prob send Noah to a nursery attached to a school as its the schools i want him to get into, i know it wont be a grantee but does help.

I've been thinking about this recently.
I've put Ellie's name down for 3 local school nurseries. They all do September in takes so Ellie will miss out as she's a September baby. They've all said that if they have places they also do a January intake. So she may well be 3 and 4 months by time she gets a place.

So I may do a private nursery as soon as she's 3 but then I'll worry about moving her if she gets a place in a nursery school!

In an ideal world I would love to get her in a nursery school the minute she's 3 because I think she'll love it! :-)

Looks like i dont have a choice and he will be going private, he didnt get into the school nursery im gutted best get searching for a good private one now x
