If you were to do it again (renewal) or for the first time would you let your oh take control of your wedding plans?

I've been watching 'dont tell the bride' on bbc3 where they give a couple 12k and three weeks to plan a wedding but the catch is the bride has no input at all she's not even allowed to be in contact while the man makes the arrangments!

I keep thinking I'd quite enjoy it! I don't have any real wants when I get married, I have a place I'd like to have it maybe but I'm ok not to be there, I've not really dreamed about it all from a young age. I don't even know what sort of dress or colour I would want. I reckon my oh would pull off a good wedding that I would really enjoy! I think he'd choose a lovely dress for me as he always seems to do well when he gets me stuff and he knows what suits me!
I think I may put it too him that he has control and see what he comes up with!!
We're not planning on getting married Till 2014 anyway so got a while to think about it lol

The answer is no, after planning our wedding 3 yrs ago, I know he would not have got all the little bits right.

But he was involved in the big stuff but russ would want to either.

i totally would, but we both go for simplicity so really he couldn't go wrong

See Kate I think we'd end up with something quite random but fun! I don't know I think I'd have something to moan about but like I say I've no real wants even with regard to little things!

Lol Carla! That wouldn't worry me either! I wouldn't mind going abroad! Altho I would want all family there so would have to give plenty of notice to save up!

I kinda like the element of suprise involved I think! Who knows maybe I'm just mad lol

We are getting married in September and I have done everything. OH moans I don't involve him (I have involved him in everything) but when I ask his opinion on something he says 'yeah yeah whatever you think' . That said I do think things like dress, decorations, details etc he would be great at. Venue and food etc I don't know - he thinks I'm a snob and can't understand why we aren't having the reception in a pub with pie and peas (no offence to anyone who did this but he knows i hate pie and peas).

I think if we couldn't afford to get married I would def consider going on 'dont tell the bride' but if it were our own money then no chance

i would love that !!! but with the food and drink , maybe he could hire a burger van and a keg ?????

i think i would allow my OH to do it ,,,, i said to OH one night when we were watching the prog that if we had been accepted for the show ( not that we have applied ) i would drum 1000 things into him first

You see Michelle food and drink would always be my priority I dont mind the other stuff as long as there is nice food and cake.

I never understand on this programme how they end up with a dress they dont like as surely if you knew you were going on it you would take them into a shop beforehand and say get this one or you are dead???

There's no way I could do that! I hate surprises. Also I like organising things and oh hates it

Lol I do wonder if they have talked about it all! They apply for the show so there must be some conversation about the whole thing!
Maybe I need to actually look into planning my wedding then I might be a little more demanding about the whole thing!

I kinda agree tho debs if the money were someone elses it wouldn't be a problem but if it were mine I might be a bit more picky!

i would love to go on that show!

i know i would let perry plan it. we talked since we got engaged about what we would want. so i think he knows roughly what i would like. even if he got someof it wrong at least he would think about it. so it would be nice

i know he would do soem thing small n silly to pee me off thou. like for example insted of a bride and groom on the cake it would be some one from GOW or some thing like that.

or he would just have a zombie wedding cake. even thou i would find it funny, it wouldnt be my dream cake lol!

My OH is terrible at planning but i love to plan and organise. I am also a perfectionist when it comes to things like that otherwise i moan like a biatch pmsl lol.

He would miss the rings or something lol. But i think its a lot for just a man to plan lol.

He had the Owl fly through the building with the rings (and her mum was petrified of birds lol)

Personally no i don't think I could. My hubby is great, but he's just not an organiser by nature. he's easily swayed by friends too so i'm sure he'd set out with the best of intentions but end up in vegas with the lads for stag do and the wedding would be down the local pub lol. I'm also a complete control freak when it comes to things i want - I have to have things exactly as i wish so I just don't think it would work for us.

I'm always telling my sis to apply to that show though as her oh would be great at something like that. He's brilliant at organising and would actually put on a great wedding.

I love to go on that show, I'd never have £12k to spend on a wedding otherwise I've spoken to my OH about the show, I'd let him loose! He knows the kind of dresses I like, the colour scheme, and the theme..... everything else he can think of himself!

My OH's sister's friend had a telephone interview for the show, but I don't think she'll get picked.

We were lucky enough to have a wedding planner. Oh met her when we booked her and 2 weeks before the wedding. The wedding was abroad so I did it all by email and a couple of meetings. 2 weeks before we met her and sorted finishing touches such a flowers and table arrangments. Oh had no involement at all! He preferred it that way. He did pay for it all though
