I'm looking at sewing machines, and need some advice on what i should look for or look out for and recommendations.

My mum has given me some patterns and I really want to have a go at them.

So any advice would be great.

I think the decent ones to get are brother or singer.

My mum wanted to buy me a brother one but there were none in stock so she bought an argos one, it scares me though so never really used it.
