| Ok will try and remember what happened!
We went out to a family members house for lunch Saturday and I was shattered so we left quite early and came home and went for a sleep, I woke up at 5pm rolled over in bed and felt a load of fluid trickling between my legs and wasn't sure if it was my waters or if I had wet myself as my bladder was full so got up went to the loo and when I stood up from the loo i had another big gush so knew it was my waters. Called hospital who told me to come in so Matt dropped Chloe off and up we went, I managed to soak through 3 pads in 20 minutes! They confirmed my waters had gone and after monitoring sent me home as I wasn't contracting with instructions to go back Monday morning for induction if no progress.
Mild contractions started half hourly or so that evening and gradually got closer together but weren't very painful. By 6am they were every 4 mins and I felt I needed drugs so called and said we were coming in.
Midwife put me on a trace and baby wasn't very happy so she examined me and I was still only 2-3 cm dilated. I couldn't believe it. I was contracting every 3 minutes and it was fairly painful so I wasn't very happy. Couldn't give me anything but codeine at this point!
Anyway they moved me to the antenatal ward and my contractions started to come one on top of the other so after another hour I got gas and air! That stuff is amazing! I was laughing despite being in agony. They moved me to about ward at 11am and examined me again and I was now 5 cm so I asked for an epidural as I wasn't coping very well. It was all a bit of a blur after that, the contractions were too much, I was in agony and off my face on gas and then they couldn't do the epidural because they examined me again at 11:40 and in 40 mins I'd gone from 5cm to fully dilated!
Felt the urge to push but was a complete wimp telling them I couldn't do it, so they took the gas off me as I wasn't concentrating and at 12:36 after much crying arguing and very loud screaming William was born weighing 8lb 11oz and is perfect!
I've honestly never felt pain like it and the crowning was awful, never again for me! However I feel pretty good now and cant believe i did it on gas and air, I did get 2nd degree tearing which stings a bit but compared to how I felt after Chloe it's nothing. We're home now, he's feeding like a pig and I'm over the moon! Will post a piccies in a sec x

| Awww Hun, well done for doing it on just gas and air. I swear that stuff is pretty amazing too. Apparently I only shut up when I was contracting lol.
Does hurt don't it, I'm in agreement with you, no more babies lol.
Rest as much as can, ouch with the stitches, glad your home
He's beautiful Hun xx |

| Well done Mandy, you brave lady! I can't imagine how scary/painful it must be to have a vbac. No wonder you were in agony going from 5 to 10 cm's in such a short space of time Gorgeous pic, he looks yummy! What does Chloe think to him? Is she still bored?! Xxxx |

| Thanks everyone Shell yes it is one from your bundle. Don't think he's going to fit in some of it for long, he's huge!
Emma don't worry, yes it hurt but I survived and you probably won't be as much of a wimp as I was! The best thing is after, not feeling awful and the last two days with him have been amazing.

| Aww bless him, it's funny cause Joshua was the same weight but that one was massive on him, i remember putting it on him in the hospital then having to change cause it was drowning him lol. He's short though. It's so lovely to see another cute little baby in the same outfit.
As for stitches i was told to drop a bit of lavendar oil in your bath to help them heal. Also wore three pads on top of each other for a real padded feel down there lol! |
