Bloody marvellous,

have just checked online banking and have been paid wrong FFS i am salaried how can they pay me wrong, have rung payroll and the lady who does ours is off til monday, they guy i have spoken to can see i have been deducted 23 hours but cant tell me why, and i have to ring back monday.

The best (worst) thing is i cant get to my wage slip today either cos they dont post it to home it gets sent with everyone elses to work even though i am on mat leave.

Are you on mat leave now hun?

If so, dont forget that they pay you weekly instead of monthly, so you may well have only been paid on a 4 week month, not a 5 week.

I had this when I had Aimee and was freaking out!

I have just worked out an example as im not sure if I explained it properly (and it may help others like me who did freak out)....

Say you clear £10k a year. You would normally get a salary divided by 12 so would get £833.33 per month.

If you are on mat leave, and it falls on a 4 week month, they will get £10k and divide it by 52 and then give you four of those, so:

£10k divided by 52 = £192.31
£192.31 x 4 = £769

Which would make a big difference in what you would end up with.

Then you would get extra on a 5 week month.

Hope it makes sense, lol!

I dont start mat leave until monday.... but this is what they told me because my mat doesnt start until monday they cant pay me for it even tho its still september which seems a tad unfair really but hey ho, will get over it, we have paid out for a few things that need paying off tho and its gonna get me an interest charge on them now grrrrr!

Our HR were useless and they dont tell you these things.

We were in hossie with Aimee when I got paid and I was about £400 short! It was the last thing I needed to worry about.

It took me ages to get to the bottom of it.
