| anyone had one in this preg or past? and how accurate are they? I was refered to have them as lillie as 'too small' so the consultant said. her being 6lb 10oz. thought that was only little below average... anyways had MW friday and she felt my belly and felt this baby was going to be 'bigger' on my graph im plotting on the 90th centile!! (knew I felt bigger) as was always on the bottom with lillie. then went for a few weeks didnt grow much... now yesterday had another growth scan......... OMFG im off the top of the 90th line!! they did their measurements and said NOW its 7lb 6oz... iv got another 3 weeks!! asked how much likely to put on, she said 1/2lb a week... so looking at 8/9lb!! how can I have a small baby then a wopper? not done anything dif or eating anything dif. had GTT tests all fine. But their not concerned, thought they might say they wouldnt let me go over. but nothing. Im only ickle how the hell am I going to give birth to a 9lber!!??! I know a few that have got it wrong, but how accurate are they? im so scared now, that A going to be a wopper and B Il end up having a section as I wont be able to do it.. been up all night worrying. sorry girls went on, but when tell OH and mum they just laugh. Im so worried. |

| With Jake the growth chart etc over estimated him! Cant remember by how much but he was 7lb 14! I didn't have extra checks with Aron but they did say he would be bigger and he was but only 8lb 12!
Had a growth scan last week with this one as I have lost 2 stone since being pregnant! and they have estimated him at 4lb 4 already! So working on 1/2 lb a week and I have 9 weeks left, he will be over 8lb at least! My mum has money on him being about 9lb 5!!
To be honest I don't think they are at all accurate as they just go on averages and not everyone lives up to being average!! Think also your mum and OH are meanies for laughing!!
My aunt had a 10lber and 11lber and only the 11lber got stuck! Will try and get hold of her and ask where she was on the size/growth thing!!

| I know how worrying it is, I was always worried when I was pg with Libby (FIL was 13lb ) and she was 7lb 7. I have heard that they can be completely wrong, but I have also heard that bigger babies are easier to give birth to Hope it is wrong for you hun xx |

I can't comment on that one as my littler one was a section and bigger was VBAC! I guess they say it cause of the weight and gravity!! xxx |

| lil beign small didnt think she was that bad... but then had nothing to compare too. but yeah iv been told that aswell. I bought a 'going home outfit' but got it on the smaller side as knew they loose weight. lillie had to go into prem clothes she was so small. tiny baby hung off her. so bought tiny baby thinking even if it is bigger than lillie it wil fit. but spend a bit on it (seeing not spent much this time around on bits and bobs) but wont fit him/her now if she/he going to be big... argh need to pull myself together today!! thanks girls x x x |

| With Tayla they estimated she was 4.4lbs but was 3.8lbs....not too far off. My cousin was had a HUGE bump and she is tiny, they said she was expecting a 9lb-er and gave her a c section (this is in cyprus btw, they dish them out ) and he was 6.5lbs! |

| This prob wont help as im just gonna make you think the baby could be even bigger- opps! Just want to show I dont think growth scans are accurate at all. My bump stopped growing at 34 weeks. I had to go for reg scans in last few weeks and at one stage Caitlins birth weight was predicted to be 5lb 13oz. I think this did go up to just over 6lb closer to due date. I had high BP and was induced on due date - Caitlin was born 3 days later at.... 8lb 1oz !!!! All that flipping measuring, worrying, scaning, checking placenta, nicknaming her tiny tot... and she came out big! I was scanned by 3 dif consultants/senior doctors and palpated by at least 5 midwifes and all commented on her being a small baby. The day after she was born a lovely old midwife came and told me 'well she wasnt small!' and said she didnt know were she had been hiding! She had been expecting to see me with the tiniest baby on the ward and I had one of the biggest. Dont worry to much. Its just a guesstimate! x |

| Christ!!!! They did say it's +\- lb so yeah could be 10lb!!! Argh I need to stop moping about it today nothing I can do! Feeling really down about it no idea why. Dam hormones!!! Think I spent the whole preg since 20weeks if I need a csec due to placenta, given the all clear at 32 weeks. Now if it's too big can see me going to have one again I just can't with lillie. Snap out if it Emma!!! Terri was she prem then?I can't remember, That's teeny weeny! Bless her x |

| Just a thought about the clothes... I think you were right to buy a smaller outfit. Caitlin was 8lb 1oz which is ave-big for a newborn but 3 days later she was 7lb 3oz (I did bf though so dunno if that makes a dif). I found most of newborn clothes were too big and the tiny baby from asda that FIL bought fitted her great for the first few weeks. I never understood how people did without newborn and went straight to 0-3. Caitlin looked ridiculous in 0-3 until she was about 6wks old. All babies are dif though! Try not to stress to much about c-sec. If it happens it happens. Not much you can do about it. You will cope because you have to and within a month or so you will be fine. xxx |
