What a waste of time some hozzy appointments are!

Dan has been having pain in his side, kind of at the back for a while and has had a few tests at our local hospital and then got referred to a specialist...so he was due to go today but just as he was about to leave realised it was in the other town, so he rang and asked if they were running late as he'd be about 20 minutes

A doctor comes on the phone and says I've read your file and I'm going to book you in for xrays so no need to come in

Why oh why do they not read the files first?! All Dan would have done was drive to the next town to be told he will get xray appointments through

A waste of everyone's time!

i know, you would think they would read up to get a general idea on their patient, not make a last minute decision x

the amount of times i take kids to the docs for work and we are there for hours is a nightmare and then you see the doc for 5 mins, drives us mad, got a lot more stuff we could be doing

SO they were going to make him go all the way there just to send him back with a different appointment, thats so ridiculous!

Yup pretty much ...now I like one to one..but just to be told they are booking you in for more appointments is just silly!

I got really fed up about it all, Im still in agony with my hips, really bad today after a hard day, but it really pees me off being shunted from one person to the next..and I have just resigned myself to the fact I'll live the rest of my life in pain

My OH had the same on monday. We think he has a problem with his gall bladder and has been suffering with it for a while. He has had an ultrasound that was inclonclusive. At the doctors he has had two sets of bloods done and done a stool sample which came back clear and on Monday he went to see a specialist who has turned round and said we will do more bloods and another stool sample....why the hell wait near on 3 months to see a specialist who is just going to send you for more tests that could have been done at the doctors ages ago . I didn't get to go with him, if I had I would of had to say something.

Its so annoying. I had this when we were being sorted for our antenatal heart scan at 16 weeks.

We both went to the appointment just for the consultant to say that he didnt need to see us and if somebody had done their job properly, he could have just booked our appointment in at Oxford and not wasted any of our time seeing him!

Grrr x
