| OK i need your help. Rowan can get out of his car seat.
We pull it as tight as we can over him but he can still get his arms through then opens the flipping door!!!
child locks on the back door are now sorted.
But how do i stop him pushing his arms through.
what he does is put his hand through where his waist is as there is a gap there.
i really dont know what to do |

| I have this problem with Thomas and it freaks me out. The coat trick worked for a while but the little git can wriggle his arms out of that now too. I have tried tying the straps together at the top but he wriggles it down. I don't know what to do tbh - I am getting him a new car seat soon (a 9month - 11 year one) and hoping I can find one with better straps.
Sorry not much help.

| Have you tried using a chest strap and pulling the shoulder straps tight, that way he cant pull them to the sides?

| he screams his head off and does it anyway LOL.
my brother has been sitting in the back with him the last 2 weeks. trevs in the passenger seat trev tells him no and he just goes nuts.
we pull his arms back through and and tighten it again just in case but within 30-60 seconds they are out again.
he's unclipped it a few times too. and stood up in the car seat!! i had to pull over and put him back in and wrap a blanket around the strap |

| Ive seen those chest straps Lisa but it wouldn't work for Thomas' seat coz it has those shoulder pad things at the top and you cant remove them - they are sewn in. Kelly - Rowan sounds just like Thomas - little buggers aren't they! Mari - don't temp me! (I was gonna use the same suggestion for your blankie problem ) xx |

| LIly has now started doing this. I nearly had a heart attack yesterday when she was halfway out of the car seat as i was driving down the motorway!
If you do find anything that helps please let me know as at the moment I am relying solely on shouting "mummy says no!" at the top of my voice which is not particularly effective!

| Amelia does this too but I find if I scream loudly enough at her to put her arms back through she does. I put her in a thick coat and stick the air con on so she's not too hot too x |

| having a hard time trying to find one of theses in the UK. apparently its alters the safety of the car seat. but has been tested and everything in AUS and they sell it.
UK being over protective. also it seems that having a clip or anything on the car seat and if you have an accident then it apparently can make your insurance void.
how true this is i dont know |

| Is it because of the insurance or the safety aspect of it? I know my friend has a convertible and she has disabled her airbag in the front for her LO to sit there, unless you double check with your insurance company it can void your insurance |

| As far as I know the chest strap type things are legal to be sold on their own in the UK, but car seat manufacturers can't sell them as part of their seat - as nanny state UK thinks that firemen in event of en emergency would be unable to unclip them to release the baby....jeez I'd rather take the risk and the baby actually being IN the car seat when I had an accident thanks!
Can't see that car seat details have anything to do with insurance - they don't even know you are transporting children, let alone what kind of car seat etc you use? |

| Id say that thing with poppers looks easier to undo than the buckles the car seat has themselves and most firemen carry cutting implements that would just go through material anyway cos we have similar stuff at work for cutting leathers etc off. Silly Uk |
