| Possibly a little, I started C at 15 months once i was sure she uunderstood the concept of naughty and even now only use it really sparingly as its really hard to et her to actually sit there. Last time it ended up in a 20 minute battle and i actually had to sit in front of her with my back turned to her cos she just doesnt have the concentration span to get it otherwise |

| I think too young
I've not had to do it with Izzy, I'm not sure what she will do that will require it...but I'm sure it will come!
What is her doing that makes you think you need to? Maybe other things will work |

| I havent done it with Aimee yet... she is to, er, spirited, to even contemplate listening to me and sitting on it. She did go through a stage of biting me when she was about 1 and I had to put her in her cot which worked a treat x |

| I can see how its tricky. If it were me id stop the hand taps as its something hes copying. The if he did it say no thats naughty if you do it again you dont get to play and if he does it again remove him from the situation and your attention for a min or two and then tell him he can come back and play if he's a nice boy I often use this when c is having a meltdown or somethign similar that doesnt need the naughty step, i tend to leave that as a last resort as its hard work. Usually turning my back on her for a min or two or sitting not speaking having taken her out of the situation works and she calms down and when i ask if she wants to play nicely she says yes and is pretty good |

i want to stop tapping his hand as he copies now. Yeh I think the tapping often may not help - I've only tapped Izzy a few times, when she was scratching me! It actually did the job at the time but I felt bad doing it so didn't do it again! What I do when Izzy does something I don't like is pick her up and move her away from the thing and place her facing away from it, saying not to do it and why (always add the reason - being told NO NO NO will bounce off and be ignored after a few times) I do this for things like messing with the TV, she now knows when I tell her to get away from things and is even good enough now that most of the time will stop going to it in the first place when I tell her to stop. |
