| hmm so i have been quite remarkably insane this week feeling quite miserable which is pretty unlike me (well, we all have our ups and downs but this is ridiculous), does anyone know if this is common at 5ish months after having a baby? i have been pretty good generally and was only teary in the first week of being home from hospital so it seems a bit late for pnd to strike! any thoughts?? |

| PND can strike at any time! Certain things can even trigger it when you have felt fine...and I know of a lady who suffered really bad when she was starting back to work..due to the stress of it!
Im not saying you have it, but the worry of going back to work/childcare etc, can stress you out xx |

| they say most mothers feel a dip at around 4 or 5 months, I did around that time and felt really emotional and teary a lot. As Lisa said the work thing probably isn't helping. Hope you feel better soon x |

| Yeah i think it is very natural to have ups and downs along the way, especially when you are breastfeeding. I am still having them and Isla is over a year old now! I have gone back to work recently and moved house so i think this has a part to play, so no doubt the worries you have may be making you feel under pressure x x x |

| Mari, I went through the same. Its hard BF even though you're used to it at 5 months, it's still draining. At the back of your mind the work situation will be there, until I sorted mine out I would lie awake for hours worrying and then be annoyed at myself because I'm not a worrier normally.
I blame the hormones, it's not necessarily PND, just a bad stage, just keep an eye on it and keep smiling x |

| hmmm well we get out quite a bit, a few classes a week and i only let myself have one 'in' day a week so if we arent at classes we go for a walk or go somewhere with hubby, but we dont get any time at all on our own, its a good point amy - if hubby is around then we just take eli with us as our parents arent really around much. hopefully it is just a stage, i felt better after scrubbing the shower with a toothbrush (???!! who knows!) i just feel like such a failure sometimes! |
