hi all, Ava's really bothered with her teeth tonight, I gave her 3.5 ml of calpol at 7 pm and she's been hysterical for the past hour, is it too early to give her another dose now,she seems in such discomfort .

hey - have you got any ibuprofen for babies? paracetamol didnt work with eli the other week but the ibuprofen did (only 2.5ml so half a dose) just a thought. its just about 4 hours though for the calpol so should be fine

what weight is she hun? I could work out her exact dosage for you (or have you already one that with the 3.5ml?)

Its a min of 4hrs between doses, so yeah you can just about give her the next dose!

I have got ibuprofen but i'm not sure whether to give that when i've already given calpol.

URGH the bad parent in me says give her a 2.5spoon... but have u tried just putting a little on ur finger and rubbing it on her gums? u ever licked the spoon and noticed how numb it makes ur tounge??

does she like to chew a sponge or flannel in the bath? i usually give my lot a freezing cold (fresh, clean) bath flannel to chew.

Righty ho, she can have 10-15mg per kg weight

16lb roughly equates to 7.25kg so.....

she can have between 3ml & 4.5ml every 4-6 hours

and yes you can give ibuprofen at the same time so give 2.5ml every 6-8hrs
