just wonderd if anyone can help me out!! do you know what a healthy oxygen sat level should be at?? and if it drops when you are dropping to sleep?

reason i ask is when oliver was in the hospital on thur his levels were at 92, they were trying it on his toes, swapping monitors and things, then said to let him walk round as its probibly because he's sleepy so he woke up a bit then, she put the monitor back on and they were at 95, then dropped to 94 and she snatched it off and said its fine he can go home!! anyway was telling my mum this today(she is a nurse but mental health and learning disibility so doesnt go a great deal into that kind of stuff) and she went mad saying they should have kept him in as at 92 would have given him an early warning score of one????she wasnt sure if its true they drop when your sleepy???is she right??just wonderd if it had anything to do with his lips going blue earlier, although they are back to normal now!!! sorry for the ramble x

92 is low really , 94 to 95 would be acceptable if they knew thre was a reason such as a chest infection and all else was ok but it is only part of an assessment that includes colour, pulse, behaviour etc so i wouldnt like to sy too muchwithout knowing those figures. Yes sats can drop when sleepy if they hunch up or position themselves in such a way that they are not breathing as deeply. How is he now

they said his pulse and breathing were a little fast but not to make them worry, he was more or less acting his normal self, didnt really seem ill, just sounded a bit chesty! they were doing the oxygen sat thingy when he was laid in his pushchair, fully reclined position, so was just laying flat.
he is a lot better now, his worse day was wed, his lips are pink again, he was sounding a little chesty again befor bed but he seems well, so hopefully then was just because he was sleepy!! thanx hun x
