Im not sure if anybody remembers from AB, but my friend lost her baby at 24 weeks in April.

Well, I still havent seen her

She didnt want to see anybody, and then when she was ready, I was already 16 weeks and you couldnt miss my belly, so I had to text her and tell her before we met, so she didnt get a shock.

Anyway, she cancelled, saying she couldnt face it.

We re-arranged a few weeks later, but she cancelled again. I said it was cool and that I understood and for her to get in touch when she was ready.

Well, she hasnt.

I have just text her to see how she is. She hasnt replied yet, and to be honest, Im not sure she will.

We have been friends since we were 7 years old and its really sad that this has happened.

Im not sure what else I can do now x

I dont know Laura - its a tricky one cos you dont want to abandon her, when in months she might need you

I think I would text her and say you are there when she needs you, no need to reply, just to remember you are there and that you'll send texts occasionally just in case she feels like replying

She has just replied saying that she is feeling really down at the moment and doesnt feel like she will ever get pregnant again, bless her.

Its still such early days and it will happen for her.

I just feel so useless as she wont see me because I am pregnant, and she is never going to want to see our new baby.

i do feel for her and im not saying its easy to get over , of course it isnt but your friend cant hide away forever
has she had any councilling ? is it just you she is like this with or any other preg friends too ? , can she cope seeing new babies/preg woman ? x

I dont think she has had any councilling, she isnt the type of person who would welcome it, tbh.

Her brothers wife had a baby in May and she did eventually go and see her, but I dont think she found it very easy.

I think in her head she is ok when arranging to meet, but when the time comes she cant face it and cancels.

She has re-opened her fb account (she closed it when it happened) and I guess as time goes on it may get easier.

Her due date was last weekend so I have tried to let her get past that date without bugging her.

That must be a horrible situation for u to be in and being friends as long as u have been it makes it even harder.
It is unfair what has happened to her and will take a lot for her to get over it but it would also bve unfair of her to make you feel bad, even guilty.
It is a good thing you are pregnant and hopefully in time she will see how she has been treating you and she will be able to move on.
Until then I think you should just leave her be.
You have tried to be there for her but she has pushed you away.
Enjoy your pregnancy and what ever you do do not feel guilty x

Awwww hun - I'm useless at advice on this sort of thing, other than just be there for her when she needs you. Sending you some hugs
