| ok after splitting his head yest evan was fine and totally himself the whole night at about 5am he started stirring and was really whingy on and off for rest of morning and his temp was really high but he kept goin back to sleep and jst kept whinging in his sleep really, to be honest i jst figured he was coming down with sumit and said to my oh before i went to work to keep an eye on him and he wud need calpol as i thought he was ill wen i got to work i wondered if it mayb had sumit to do with splittin his head so i mentioned it to a doctor i work with that he had high temp and was it coincedence or a symptom of head injury and he said to get evan checked over cos it cud be cos of head injury my oh did have to give him calpol and he slept most of morning i took him to docs at which point he had perked up his temp went straight down with the calpol and he was happy to eat and drink, doc said a high temp is not a reaction from head injury and if he was having a reaction there wud be more symptoms than high temp the most common being he wud be sick and he though it was jst coincedence and it looked like evan was jst coming down with sumit he does have a runny nose so i agreed with doc cos i had reasearched head injury myself and nothing pointed to high temp, all day he has been a lil more sleepy than normal but he wud be if he was ill, but he has been playin after he perks up and hasnt been overly grumpy but now he is sound asleep has cosied in and not moved since half 7 his breathing is normal he has not long had more calpol as his temp was up again (which doc said wud happen) he keeps tensing up like he has a sore tummy and has had mega wind but im now gettin more worried jst cos of the way he has cosied in and he seems sore am i jst panicking cos he has had head injury do u think? or wud u want him checked over again? |

| ooh i dont know, wouldnt say its to do with the head injury but he might be getting an upset tummy, just monitor him, you may end up with a very bad nappy shortly.
hope he is ok soon xxx |

| Poor Evan! I would try not to worry - its probably just a bug as there are loads going around right now Just keep an extra eye on him , which I know you will be anyway! Here's the extra eye you need |

| You are bound to be worried after a bump like that. I would keep a really close eye on him for the next day or so and if you are still worried by Friday get him checked again so you are not worried all weekend with only A&E or the out of hours GP available over the bank holiday. p.s. have you thought about buying your little monkey one of those helmets like rugby players wear so he has something between his little head and whatever it is he is bouncing off next |

| It doesnt sound like it is linked to his head injury that he had and is probably just sods law that he is coming down with something at the same time.
The only thing that could link the two is (im no doc, but Aimee has been ill today so been researching) if the cut on his head has got an infection, which is unlikely. As that could cause him to get a fever/high temp. Does it look ok?

| yeah laura cut is fine its clean and the glue is holding it together and its not even been weeping or anything! it does seem tender tho cos doc had a look at it and evan got really upset wen doc touched that area of his head!
to be honest this mornign i didnt think for one second they wud be related but then doc at work had me panicking after seeing our own doc i was reassured and evan was fine but jst the way he has been and is now asleep wen normally we wud still be fighting to get him to sleep my mind is jst going into overdrive
im sure it is jst coincedence and he is jst gettin a bug hence the runny nose and nasty nappies and after squeezin some more he has jst let out the biggest fart ive ever heard will see how he goes doc said to go back if i was even slightly worried or if any changes!
and as for the crash helmet gill im seriously considering it, i actually mentioned to the dr today that i was concerned cos he falls all the time and has no fear of throwing himself off thngs and banging his head but he said it was jst a case he was adventurous and his head wants to do so much but his body physically cant do it jst yet
thanks ladies x |

| well seems like he jst has a flu type virus not as bad as the flu tho and for the nxt few days ive jst to expect fluctuating temperatures, they have said not to worry about how high his temp goes as long as the calpol brings it back down! lol doc didnt hold back on the info either she told me that if his temp gets much higher he may fit and not to worry but it will look like he is dead and that he will come round within 15 mins lol i was totally shittin myself then she said if it does happen and u get worried phone an ambulance!!!! however ive looked into this and it is very rare and highly unlikely and since the calpol is bringing down his temp im sure he will be right as rain in no time and at least i now know what is actually wrong so i dont need to worry we r missing something!! |

| Did she say to alternate with ibuprofen? Poor thing We had a raging temperature a while ago - down to nappy, cool shower with me, ice lollies, fluids, cool flannels, meds every couple of hours - it still raged for two days! Not nice, especially after his bump. Hope it rights itself soon xx |
