Have they been to yours? Last week they never came cos the snow was quite bad, but again they've not been today and our bins are heeving The ice is quite bad round here now but the roads are clear, I just don't get it Our road is on a slight gradient but its still ok for cars and lorries to go up and down. I honestly can't leave it another week

Ours only come once a fortnight but they have been coming as normal. Our street is quite bad too so I'm suprised but they are dedicated . OH has to go to the tip once a week anyway to get rid of a couple of bags because we have one of those little dinky 'single person' wheelie bins which is supposed to last 4 of us 2 weeks it's a joke. I recycle as much as I can too and I have a composter for food waste but it's just not enough. xx

Thanks ladies. I haven't actually seen them about tbh, I can't even put things into bags as we have looooads of feral cats around here As-if Debs I've seen them teeny bins, thats ridiculous. Have you requested a bigger one?

I've just checked the website that says Bin Collections - Update 07.12.2010 15.50 hours Temperatures today have not gone much above freezing, however all rounds are currently out. Tonight's forecast is of more sub zero temperatures isn’t good news, but Wednesday's work will be carried out where safe to do so. Then, as before, other Areas will be prioritised based on access timescale since serviced last etc.

Yeah we asked but they basically said it's that size or nothing . We only got wheelie bins in October - before that we used to have to put bags out but they would collect EVERY week and we could put out as mant bags as we needed. We have 4 wheelie bins, 3 recycling and one household. The recycling ones are proper sized bins and the household is teeny I wouldn't mind so much but they are extremely fussy about what you put in the recycling ones and they go round doing checks and if they see something in there that isn't 'on the list' they wont empty it. If the lid doesn't close properly (even a few mm) they refuse to empty too! Argh! Bin nazis!!! xx

Our area (West Oxfordshire) have just started the same scheme as what Debs has.....we have a single size wheelie bin, recycling boxes for plastics, cardboard etc and then a food composter. They have also just started Garden Waste collections too.....who has Garden Waste at this time of year?? xx
