| To be honest hun, this is really something your landlady needs to get sorted ASAP. At the very least, she needs to give you a reduction in your rent to cover your extra heating costs while the boiler is getting fixed x |

| she's breaking the law under the landlords and tenants act she's responsible to repair a broken boiler, can you speak to her again and explain that its really not acceptable especially with two little ones in the house. |

| ^ it sounds like that is just what you need to do. If she thinks she can get away with not sorting it now - when it's the coldest weather all year - then she's never going to do it. Only you and OH can make sure she does it and asap - if it's through an agent pester them and if it's private let keep pestering her. In the meantime look into this: http://www.warmfront.co.uk/
(BUT I think it could take some time to process if eligible - so make sure she doesn't shirk her responsibilities and make the excuse of waiting for the grant in the meantime!) As a landlady she should have insurance / boiler service package / heating supply repair service in place already anyway. |

| Char can you ring up some places to get it fixed yourself and ask them to bill the landlady? (i.e. check with them on the phone that they will bill the landlady not you?) if anywhere agrees then do that. At least you will have heating and she will then be in trouble with the company for not paying rather than being able to dodge your calls she has to deal with them. |

| You need to get this sorted A.S.A.P hun, especially with two little ones. This is not acceptable, do you think she will be sat in the cold if her boiler broke....I don't think so. I have a friend at work who has not had any heating or hot water since the weekend and her landlady has told her she can't afford a new boiler and if this is going to cause an issue then maybe she should serve her two months notice....if that's not telling her to get lost I don't know what is.(Maybe you have the same landlady) I'm pretty sure you have rights hun....maybe have a word with CAB xx |

| Well is there anyone who can ring on your behalf that's a bit more bolshy! See I can be dead bolshy sometimes and I'd probably go in all guns blazing and refuse to pay rent and get myself in trouble haha! Definitely someone needs to start annoying her every day till it's fixed because it's disgusting that she would do that to you in this weather, especially with little ones in the house! xxx |

| I agree with mrsmb but I also know if I was in your shoes Id be too scared to keep hassling people. withh your OH do it or anyone in your family? it's not acceptable at all. It;s illegal Im sure! there must be another company on the Island who can fix boilers and bill the landlord? |
