im not sure if elijah is poorly, growing or just back into bad habits - he was intermittently miserable yesterday (ask pixel ) unless he was being held... last night i put him down about 10 times and eventually got an hours sleep at 2am holding him, we had run out of ideas by then and gave him 2.5ml calpol and he finally slept from about 3.30/4am until 9 he was up for an hour and quite cheerful, but has now been asleep for nearly 2 hours... he is feeding fine, no temperature, quite cheery if he is being held but won't be put down. eli has always been nocturnal so im not sure if he is just slipping back into that habit - or if he is off colour??? hard to tell, i feel bad giving him calpol when there was nothing obviously wrong but putting him in his cot asleep 10 times for him to wake up again screaming was more than i could take!

How is it that he likes being held? If it's with his tummy to your shoulder or similar then it could be a bit of an upset tum maybe? Or if he's happy just sitting on your lap then maybe he's just out of sorts, growth spurt, teething... the usual check-list

just being held in any shape or form seems to do! he has been sleeping even if he is on our shoulder which is a bit unlike him - and not even wanting to be fed when im holding him (not 100% of the time ) just wanting to cuddle, which is most unusual! hmmm i will let him sleep...if it continues for a few days i will have to start getting him up though to get back to sleeping at night - its like having a mini teenager! also - is it normal for his front teeth to be sort of swollen under the gums? its only looked that way in the past few days, do you think they could be moving which is upsetting him? it looks sore!

maybe, his gums look sore at the front - but hes pretty happy so long as he is being help - he has been dribbling/chewing for over a month so its sort of normal behaviour now! the sleep is not normal though...

well i can see the top two they are sort of bulging out of his gums and his gums look really sore...i have given him some cold porridge and put a few teethers in the freezer and given him a bit of dentinox gel and he is now eating a book so maybe that is the problem...hmm maybe some toothpegs soon!
