| Just talking to my sister on the phone and she said, you know you went to the farm on Saturday and saw the baby lambs? Well your not supposed to go near sheep when your pregnant. So she has now panicked the life out of me, we went to my stepmums farm and went across to see some baby lambs in the barn, I didn't touch any of them or anything in the barn and had never been told this by my MW. Just spoken to the MW and she said as long as I had no physical contact with them then I should be fine, but im now so scared about it. |

| oh I wouldn't worry I'm sure its just the same as not touching cat poo in case they have toxaplasmosis or whatever that is I think they can give you toxaplasmosis too... and have that lysteria stuff. but even if you did touch them as long as you washed your hands afterwards it would be fine. easier said than done but don't worry x |

| That's early for lambing already - yup, another one for the avoid list http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Nl1/Newsroom/DG_173638 hope that helps - it's meant to make you NOT worry as much! We went to a farm in summer and they had a fixed sign up advising about hand washing etc mentioning it too x |

| Wont be a prob if you didnt touch em, even if you did its not a prob if you washed hands after Its like the toxoplasmosis thing - i you have cats already and change litter trays chances are you have had enough exposure to build up immunity...not that ive told neil that |

| The sheep thing is because pregnant ewes give off a hormone that can induce labour and cause miscarriages. It is pretty rare but just stay away from sheep during lambing season.
There are probably other bugs and stuff you can pick up from farm animals that would be worse because you are pregnant but just normal good hygiene should be enough. |
