| Lol i gotta start watching the news instead of flamin beebies Well lets face it the tories were never gonna keep taxes down. TBH much as i know the economy is unstable and needs repair i think they are doing too much too soon. Tax credits, child benefit, VAT its hitting the british public too hard and i think theres a fine line between recovery and further recession |

| The Tories seem to be out to $%^£ us over in anyway possible, they have always been the same, the one thing I would say though is I think realisticallly when they dropped VAT to 15% the other year, they new that they would have to increase it the other way to even it out if you get what I mean?? xx |

| TBH though did anyone really notice the difference when it went down to 15%? I certainly didn't notice much benifit in my bank account as I tend to live to my means (really need to change that). Petrol prices are crippling something really needs to be done about that. I just hope to hell that this doesn't become a permenant change as long term it is extortionate. In the short term I think everyone has to suck it up as things simply couldn't carry on as before. It hurts everyone and it's going to have to hurt for quite a while as there is no magic fix. We simply can't carry on as we did before |

| i don't plan on buying many big purchases and my holidays for this year were booked last year before the hike. apart from petrol it's not really going to make that much of a difference. |

| I'm so glad that work pays for my petrol, or I'd be walking everywhere, it's ridiculous when you think that nearly 59p per litre is tax. I know we all have to pay taxes but I hate it that I pay tax on what I earn, tax on my savings and blooming tax on everything I buy too. |

| A lot of companies will adsorb the increase, so we won't notice much of a difference or there may be no difference.
and it's really not to much I don't think. say a loaf of bread at £1.20 will now be £1.23 |

| when you break it down to individual items, no it's not much but if you add up what you spend on shopping, petrol etc over the course of a month, it's a big dent in people's income. Especially when you add on people losing child benefit, ctc and having reduced benefits elsewhere, some people are going to be much worse off in the future |

| Exactly Mandy. I don't drive (and right now, i'm actually glad) But as mandy said every little bit adds up and on your monthly incoming and outgoings it will make a difference am sure. |

| yes i understand this but as i said before we are not going to see the increase in everything. as a lot of companies will adsorb the increase.
With food i never noticed i was saving any money when buying the same shop on line from the same store for 4 months running over the two tax periods.
