Right, I am aware this is probably thick as $hit for someone who just recently turned 29 but seriously - I thought you measured in inches and that was your number measurment?! Eg. 36inch = a 36 bra?! Then the cupsize is something about the difference between the two sizes (under bust and on bust / round nipples)

I'm looking online and getting very confused and coming out about a 55 HHH (well, not quite, more like a 40 E/F but it feels massive)

Any ideas?!

tbh around the house I wear a stretchy vest every day & no bra (great for the sagging ) but thought I could get a couple of cheapie nursing bras online or from matalan this week - as the ones I have already need a bra extender in to feel comfy. Am now feeling very big-boobed and let down by the imperial measuring system who the hell came up with this anyway?!

Nooo thats not right surely! ...what ever you measure under your boobs, round the rib cage is what your number is....so no way you can be 55!

Grace, I also believed that the number is the measurment around your back( mines 34) and then the cup size is how big (or small in my case) aa > gg.

Mine didn't actually grow much when I was pregnant I would love to have a decent set of boobs!

lol, the 55 was a slight exageration on what the calculators I'm using said - I'm about 37 under boobage but then they said to add inches on to that?! So I thought I'd be generous (allowing for super-size-milk-boobs) with 38 and that came out at a 42?!

I'd always been a 34/36ish then upto 38 with feeding bras last time... hence 42 feeling a big jump

great link, i was going to gt mine measured as theyve gone down loads since stopping bf and ive been losing weight, it says i'm a 36c which i really doubt as my boobs are still a big handful each , ive measured 3 times now though , quite confused.

I need some new bra's and I've been looking at calculators that say the same thing, if the under bust measurement is odd then add 5 inches and if even then add 4. I currently wear a 38 DD but I get double boob so figured I just needed a bigger cup size.. well apparently NO im a 42a !? seriously fooked...

however Lisa that site says 38DD for me... so hmm maybe i measured wrong cos this bra is too small lol.

Ladies always go by the fit of the bra as different styles and designs will fit differently (like being a size 12 in one shop doesn't make you a size 12 in another) If you have the time go and get yourself measured. If you think you're bigger than average then deffo go to Bravissimo. They don't use tape measures, it's all done by the actual fit of the bra. Then don't buy it just go and get it cheaper online

You have to go in cubicle take tshirt off stand in bra,, lady comes in measures under boobs (still in bra) then the lady guessed my cup size, went off and got me that size bra to try! I put it on she came in adjusted shoulders and viola I fitting bra! I was wearing totally the wrong size :0 I then left and went to la senza and bought bras

Mine are 34E or 36DD! If you can't get right size as measured, go up in number (36) down in letter (DD).

the woman in our local M&S used to be rubbish...my friend who has implants..and they are quite big..went in and the woman looked at her (she was wearing a baggy hoody) and said '34B..I'll be back in a sec'

She was a 34 but more like a DD...and she did look like a twit when my friend got undressed! I mean who guesses boob sizes when people are dressed?!

i just got OH to measure me and using Lisa's site i'm 36DD i've been barely above an A cup since before getting pregnant but Grace's site said 40B which is what i'm wearing after being measured in Mothercare

Lita's one says 42A for me... so it must be the one thats 5 inches to the size...

but a 38 fits me around where its meant to go its just the cup thats odd so Im just gonna try a bigger cup size and see what happens... or go up ONE number size not 3
