i swear i am ready to kill lewis!!

in the last few months he's become progressively worse with his behaviour...when we're out to eat if he isn't fed instantly he pitches a screaming fit, then he screams because he doesn't want what he's fed, then he'll scream because he's finished and bored...you get the idea...it's a constant screaming fit

at home he does exactly the same and we can have hour long screaming fits cos i've dared to offer him something other than my food!

he is now hitting with his screaming fits though...and today i took his hand so he wouldn't smack me and instead he bit me!!

on top of that night times are becoming a battle....he's taken to waking up at about 3.30 screaming, i'll give him some milk and a nappy change and he still screams blue murder for attention....this morning it lasted until 6am!! i can't allow it as poor lily-ann gets woken up and will then be awake all night

but i have no idea of an effective way to stop the behaviour...i really am close to breaking point with him

Seriously though it sounds hard work. What does he do if you ignore his screaming...does he eventually stop or have you never let it carry on that long?

Im just thinking if he knows he will eventually get what he wants then he will carry on screaming til he gets it..cos he breaks you...but if you break him, even just once might make him think this doesn't work...and then he might not scream so long the next time etc etc?

Ignoring is quite successful for Izzy with most things as she really only acts badly to get what she wants and when she realises that aint happening she gives up.

i've tried leaving him and totally ignoring him all together...the other day he stood for an hour, on the spot, just hysterically screaming until it was time for dinner(the screaming fit was cos i left the room to nip to the loo) and as soon as he saw food it was instant silence


when we're out and about it's impossible to leave him screaming as people give such dirty looks and i get all flustered and keep trying 20diff things to shut him up

for the night time we're considering putting him up in the spare bedroom and doing CC with him so lily-ann can have some sleep

i would deffinately try the cc - it seems apparent there is nothing he needs so it must be for attention. Hopefully the cc would show him his screaming isn't acheiving what he wants.

my mum would say, give him something to cry about lol!!

iv got similar troubles with alasdair at the moment and i actually called my HV bout it and shes got me some classes to go to with him. a lot of it sometimes is boredom/attention seeking ?? she also suggested i changed his diet. not that he eats much as it is!

the CC has worked well for me, althou he still gets up stupid amounts of times thru the night, iv had to pin him down several times to get him to stay in his bed and give it up. sounds worse than it actually is.

the hitting one, im gettin a lot and iv been trying the, get up and walk away from him. saying ouch and bad and walking away. use whatever key word he is used too.

hope he starts behaving soon x

sorry hunnie didnt want to read and run and dont really have any advice but the CC and putting him in the spare room may be the best idea, hope you manage to sort the little man out soon xxxx

well last night he went and slept through again, only waking at 5am cos he was soaked...typical
