my dads been diagnosed with shingles, im obviously keeping ava away becuase of the risk of chicken pox. The thing is he picks me up from work on a wednesday night and im worried that i could still pass it on this way (btw ive had chicken pox) Is this possible?

unfortunatly hun yes you can get shingles and its something you can get more than once my nan has had it twice so far and mum had it even though she has had severe chicken pox when she was younger xx

i've read you can't catch shingles, only chicken pox. I dont know what to do for the best i'll get home an hour and a half later if I get the bus home but i'd rather that than take the risk.

You can't catch shingles but you can catch chicken pox from someone with shingles if you havent had them,but you would have to be in physical contact (this is what we got told when my mum had shingles) I don't think she can catch them through you though x

i would contact GP quickly and just ask them because i would just ask if you dont catch it could you be a carrier of the virus and carry it in to the house and potentially give ava it that way, But aparently you cant get chicken pox from shingles just shingles from chicken pox thats what i heard so dont take that as gospel xx

i should learn to read a post thats been added whilst i have been writing mine ( i got that from SIL who was told that by MW when she was pg and her SIL had shingles)
