i think i have asked this before, but decided against getting one at the time - however now my ever more active and agile child has become a destructive mountaineer we think maybe we need something or other to pop him in so i can go for a wee now and again! (just now i take him with me but don't really want him on the floor in there Laughing)

so, looking for playpen/travel cot reviews really - its absolutely essential that it is easily folded/stored though cos we are already pushing it with my mum about how much room we use up Smile

I personally never used one with the bigger two, if I needed to go to the loo, I just used just stick them in their cot for a couple of mins!

Laughing hahahaha perfect pixel!!!

he doesn't have his own room, it's shared with me and hubby and the other rooms are communal with my mum so although it's safe i wouldn't feel happy leaving him even for two minutes at the moment - the cot is ok, but he screams when he is left in it and i don't want bedtime vapours to get any worse!

cage looks good to me Very Happy

Failing that take him with you and stick him in the empty bath while you pee Razz

Seriously though - travel cots all seem pretty similar tbh and theyre not expensive really. If it's only gonna be to play in then just get the cheapest.

I will say though that I had one up for a while to contain Thomas for the exact reason you want one. I think i used it 2-3 times and he screamed the house down coz like Eli - he would not be contained! (still wont Rolling Eyes). Because we were short of room it became 'storage' for certain things whist not in use. Started with the big bean bag and my birthing ball then progressed to a 'few' toys then lots of toys then I popped the washing in there one day when I was in a rush and all of a sudden it became a dumping ground for all the crap I wanted out of Thomas' way Rolling Eyes. Best thing I ever did getting rid of that thing Laughing

Laughing that's my fear! haha i would definitely have to take it down when i wasn't using it cos it would have to be between 2 couches in the living room Smile and like you it would end up full of rubbish like every other surface! Very Happy

We had a playpen in our living room and a travel cot in the kitchen for containing Wil.

Playpen ended up being used to dump toys in and ended up with so many in there there was no room for Wil.

We did use the travel cot a bit for him, kept him quiet by feeding him banana and toast while he was in there.

Got rid of both once he could walk though. He could also jump in the cot and move it across the kitchen.

oh my! Laughing i imagine we would only be using it for a little while (my mother informs me that as soon as he is able to keep up he will just follow us everywhere) then selling it on on gumtree like we seem to with everything Laughing
